Due to weather and work my celebration will have to be delayed a couple days, but I assure you that guns shall be fired and cans/bottles defeated soundly in battle. :D
What is wrong with downloading a game to test out its full capabilities, then decide whether you want to buy it?
If the owner of the game allows it, there is nothing wrong. If the owner of the game does not want you to, it is wrong to disregard their intellectual and property rights and forcefully take what you want.
So why can't we download a game in order to try it out, then decide after that trial run that we like it enough for the game to be deserved
Now I recently but the Twilight expansion and I still find some design issues that really keep this game from being a real successor to MOO2:
To quote Brad:
GalCiv as MOO 4? No. The comparisons have always been there. Even back at the start when Galactic Civilizations for OS/2 was released. GalCiv for OS/2 came out in beta before MOO (Master of Orion) shipped but 1.0 came out after MOO. So there's always been some question as to who influenced

Season 2 Dvd's are being released today, mine should be here this afternoon. I'm stoked, I didn't see the second season as I was turned on to the show too late to catch it, there are going to be some late nights this week... :CONGRAT:
also i couldn't categorize GC2 players as teenagers screaming noob and pwnzor and whatnot, actually i could describe them as adults acting like adults
I don't know, there was Wheel of Fire... ;) [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/98074"]I suppose that the OP didn't see this thread, which is surprising since it is the fourth link from the top. The reason, of course, that it is fourth from the top is that it is stickied. Why is it stickied you might ask? Becaus

I usually play on the largest galaxy size, with everything set to it's lowest setting. It gives it a big empty feel, and makes your dealings with the minor races very important.
Can I ask a question to the people that are for this? What makes this appealing to you? Is the game not challenging enough without these mega events taking a big chunk of your planets?
Variety is the spice of life, it changes things up, makes things more dynamic. To me it's not really about the difficulty, it's about the sudden monkey wrench in the machinery that has turned the situation on it's head, forcing me to rethink how I'm going about things. Because of
I also hope the dread lords gets a boost before the game launches, they've always been an extreme dissapointment to me, considering the power the game lore claims they have...
Indeed, what I would like to see would be a ready made planet and several ship for them upon arrival.

After growing weary of silly posts, [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/307133"]such as this one,[/link] by well meaning players who do not seem to grasp the purpose and intention of Mega Events, I am bumping this thread. To those unfamiliar with it, I encourage you to read the OP. You don't have to agree with it, but it should explain why few care about complaints concerning Mega Events being "over powered". Please remember, Mega events were not created to be speed bumps. Rath
I'm not saying all mega events are over powered just this one.
You seem to be missing the point that they are supposed to be over powered, and were designed to be such. A few feel short of that goal, such as the DL event, but that doesn't mean the successful ones should be thrown under the bus.

A micro patch system would be really handy. If an expansion were to break it's features down into several groups, and allow them to be sold individually as well as a whole package, the game could then operate on a modular basis where upon game launching you could choose which expansion features to implement. Using TA as an example, if one wants terror stars and the tech tree, but not necessarily the campaign, then they could buy those pieces individually and save money. If one game yo
actually, especially with their recent praise of the work with Ironclad on SOASE, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were announcing a closer relationship, maybe symbiotic or closer, of their two companies. Two small independent companies coordinating that showcase collective will and putting the consumer first is something that would shake up the PC gaming world.
Well, Brad did just spend a week on the west coast "on business", during which he stopped by to visit t

Why is a penguin talking about geckos? Do penguins eat geckos, and if so are you in need of geckos? Regardless though, I know what wouldn't hesitate to eat a gecko as well as your entire family if given a chance... WOLVERINES!
