El Nino it is! I got your back bro... except for that one time, with the thing and the guy... yeah. "For all you out there who dont know what "El Nino means" means, it means: The... uh... Nino!"

Actually, let me correct myself: Comabt Has changed. Capital ships are now much more leathal... But the shoot first and kill everything before the other fleet can respond tactic was done away a long time ago. I give myself half credit
Also tetleytea, the comabt was changes quite a while ago in DL. The combat mechanics have changed in DA... unless you get the Super Warrior.
A decent planet with a few farms and a load of stock markets should be a requiremnt for your empire! = Cash Cow!
Oh Feud... So if your grades take a nose dive this semester and mom asks me why it happened, what excuse would you like me to tell her?
Hey everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying DA... If not, I highly suggest you try it, its a wonderful expansion! Speaking f which, I'm curious what the general audience is enjoying most about Dark Avatar? I know for me, my imagination is overwhelmed by all the possibilities that the new ship jewelry and the intelligence report views brings to the table!
Pretty sweet animation man...
Wow uglycow... Whats gotten into you? Its pretty obvious that something has you peeved and that your looking to take it out on any possible target. SD has been doing great with regards to the public... We're a pretty happy community here so if theres something you want to share in a respectful, considerate manner, we would all be happy to oblige you!
Thank you all very much for the early release! My question: Was this planned all along, or did you sit down in a meeting and say "What the heck?"
I really like it! Sounds like it could have a fun affect on the game play. Nice idea!
Being the geek that I am, I am fascinated by the idea of life somewhere beyond our own planet. Like many others, I've dreamed and believed that life could very possibly take on a from we humans would not be at all familiar with. But in recent years, that idea has been challenged by a theory called "Convergence" Basically the idea states that there are certain forms that are most efficient in nature, and that life will inevitably evolve towards those forms... For example, the vast majority of mac
Nope, the AI has to play by the same rules we do when it comes to victory. It worked out well, I took a a gamble and put everything into my research hoping to finish it before the Drengin out built me. It worked out pretty well, although a few more months and he would have attacked. Like I said, it was a gamble, but that time it paid off. Only once do I think I have ever seen an AI go for the tech win, it was the Terrans and again, pretty late in the game.
Its interesting, I once came to a stalemate with the Drengin, both of us had take over several other empires and where the last two on the map. Both our empires had some massive research bonuses via resource star bases and the tech tree was finished in short order. Interestingly enough the Drengin chose not to pursue a tech victory. I guess The AI was more interested in the squishiness of me under its boots then it was enlightenment. From what I could gather in the post wrap up (I took
Does it bother me sometimes? Yeah actually it does. I'll glance over the games in my inventory (PC or Console) and I notice that all of them include violence or pure aggression on some level or another. Then I look at my movie collection, and again nearly all of them contain violence as a central theme. I suppose I could pass it of as being biology or a by-product of my environment. I could say that I have become desensitized to the point that I don't hardly realize it... But I do. <br/
Huzzah!!
Agreed mystik and bingjack! Speed is life in my play book, but then again in my play book Eyes of the Universe is a mandatory structure!
CariElf: Wait, you mean that the card I got at the gas station scotch-taped to the jewel case isn't enough? Wow... I mean... wow. This changes my entire outlook on dating and courtship. Stardock; not just making better games, making better gamers.
Hey you!... Yeah you in the Penny Arcade/Ctrl Alt Del shirt! Guess what? Vista wasn't made for you! Lets step outside ourselves for a few minutes. The majority of people using computers are not gamers like us(I own more than my share of web comic shirts). They don't really care about pushing their FPS up or tweaking their CPU usage to get max performance. They want to turn on their computer and do what they want to do without any hassle. Microsoft is catering to them, the large majority of their
Those reports on ships are in DA... so if you dont have the beta, sit tight a few more weeks!
Actually Bluedev, PC players have been getting ignored quite a bit lately! Ubisoft is a great example. Their roots are in PC games, but to accommodate the growing console fan base the PC games have been of surprisingly low quality. Its been tough to see some of my favorite games run into the ground in the name of catering to consolers. You're right of course that it is all in the eye of the beholder, but having played shooters from both sides of the fence, I can say that the PCs tend to
You know, I've heard this one before (still funny though) but this time it got me thinking about "dog" and "cat" people... I think that you could extend those terms to apply to people's personalities as well. Perhaps a little too deep for this thread, but got me thinking.
Yes I'm excited about UT3 too! But I disagree with the comment about shooters on consoles. Really when compared to their PC counterparts console shooters just have a watered down feeling to them. Let me be clear, I am not talking about graphics. Its true that consoles will probably never be equal to PCs in terms of graphics quality, but thats not my complaint, most graphics now are good enough for me to be happy. Its the game play, the feel, the immersion, and the presentation that I feel is tru
Mind altering chemicals aside, I agree with you. It seems that R6 has been de-evolved into a twitch based frag em type of game. I miss being able to plot out a route select my crew and customize their weapon. Raven Shield was probably the finest iteration they had IMO... After that its been all down hill.
Less hassle in starbase management for sure! Then deffinetly I would like to see more with the UP. It honestly feels just kinda tacked on. Let us be able to introduce bills, try to lobby the AIs, put some game changing things up to vote!
Yes when we mention DL we mean Dread Lords, DA is Dark Avatar...For being the same game there are a number of important differences between the two. It may help if you knew where your money is going to. To the right of the money sliders is a basic break down of where all your money is coming from and going to. Check if there are any dis-proportionally large amounts going out. There isn't an economy that these guys here cant fix! You're right though, you will need research and
