It's nice to see long time homm site celestial heavens give props to galactic civ's for the starforce episode. And I preordered the limited version today. Wasn't originally planning on getting this too, though I've been a fan since homm I. But this news just blows my mind.
What's cool Cutting-edge projects, like designing a new video game or tweaking that military laser. Link I think they underrate the stress level though.
I feel as if I'm not getting any random good/evil events. I still get them when I colonize planets, but not when I'm just sitting around plotting the galaxy's doom. Is it just me? I'm playing games as a custom race on tough and suicidal (a very short game I must add).
I think the more people you have, the more morale bonuses you need to keep it up. It doesn't directly add in 240%.
With all the new AI revisions and all - when are you going to take a break Brad? There's only so much off the boards that any man can take. Don't take all the AI blame personally, people just need something to vent over. The AI is still the best out there right now, and you're trying to make it better. Much appreciated.
The logical next step would be in transforming Stardock into a publisher that rivals Microsoft. Because consumers would rather have a megalomaniac that makes good games compared to one that doesnt.
And I'm sure there will be new stuff as well. But there's a big community for star wars and star trek and you might as well let them have their own mods; it hurts you none.
It is mentioned in the 1.1 change log. Higher difficulty levels don't have this feature anymore, since it was meant only to help newbies out in the game.
This should be in the mods folder. It's a nice thought too because some people were posting earlier about how they don't like green and purple stars. While personally I don't mind the lack of realism regarding star color and planet sizes, this mod helps make everyone happy. Nice work.
Don't know what a beta is? Don't know if you should download this? Then don't. I love that quote. And the added features and innovative AI is great. I don't think we'll be able to outsmart the AI ever agai
I meant what I thought should happen, not what does Yeah that's what I want to happen too. The random events add so much variety to my game, I don't want to see them go away right when I research Xeno Ethics! And then I end up researching pretty much everything else.. <img src="http://images.stard
I noticed that in several of my games, I stopped getting alignment shifting events once I picked a side for xeno ethics. Is this meant to stop once you pick an alignment? Because that makes me want to research xeno ethics pretty late. I like funky events.
Thanks for the in-depth rundown on the numbers. I'm not sure how simple adjectives and taking away definition from the abilities add "soul" to a game other than forcing you to imagine things a little more. But then again, you did start out as one of those people who liked fuzzy math right? Anyway good job on the balance, I do see the p
/Ars-ian/ as in Kick in the "Arse"-ian I use that one. It seems to be most apt whenever I play against them.
In my last game I took over a world that had trade goods on it, but i didn't get them and the original race that built them still has them- is this a bug and how do I get them to my civ? This was fixed in patch 1.0x. If you have that patch, send your game in to bug reports.
No offense to BoogieBac or any other Stardock designer - the gameplay is stellar. However, I have to agree with Orion Adrian's points - the game is more LOL than connection. Music isn't especially my taste, but that's a matter of opinion. The tech tree at the beginning was difficult enough, but within the first few games, it does feel very linear - I just have to simply improving all the baseline stats and abilities, with little regard to c
Pwahaha! I can't wait to conquer the galaxy in my Picasso-esque ships. They'll win because enemy ships won't have any idea where the lasers are shooting from. I wonder if we can make Transformers-esque ships now too.
Sounds like solid numbers, but I find that I need money early in that 45 turn period to quick buy colony ships. The money is worth more early when there are more planets, but this information gives you a little more versatility nonetheless.
Aythanaeus, if you preferred Civ 4 over Galactic Civilizations 2, then please, shut the hell up, get off this forum, and get a copy of Civ 4. It's only, what, ten or fifteen more dollars than Gal Civ 2? Tychandrus, obviously he already has Civ 4. Many people who got Gal Civ 2 also had Civ 4 (like myself). I suggest you get off this forum if yo
ctrl shift M, like I said, adds all technology except miniaturization for some reason. Weird, because ctrl shift R simply adds it all.
I like to collect my CDs which is why I didn't go for electronic download and didn't think there would be a 2 to 3 week delay after the official release date if ordered from someone like Amazon. I've easily spent 2+ hours trying to find this game locally without success with the intent of cancelling that order. If you ordered from stardock, yo
Wow what a great idea for number 2. Introducing scandal into virtual galactic politics! It's combining the political machine with gal civ.

Yay fixes and updates. Looking forward to this. Of course after all the fixes are done, I expect a lot of content additions. What are the stats on the new weapons?
