A couple of things I'd like to see in any update or improvement. 1. An AI that actually defends its colonies intend of being a retard and flying away from their planets. Example; Playing campaign game, Torians colonised a planet near the DLs, a few turns later a few Torian ships park in orbit to guard it. A few turns after that an unescorted Transport flew to within one SQ of the planet, the Torian ships leave to attack a SB that was ten SQ away AFTER spotting th

Watched SG1 last night and can't help but think the Orii would rip the DLs arses to bit after the way they totaled everyone else. LOL That was just scary, I had flash backs to the DLs raiding my fleets. Man if I had Orii UberBeams in GalCiv I'd own them Dreadlords. Hallow are the Orii. J
The Dreadlords are pussycats. I wipe the floor with them. LOL J
Because destroying things is always easier than creation, letting people do what they like is harder than trying to get them to see reason and reservation. Humanity on a whole is evil it is only the law and the governments that stop us from being so. Basically good and evil are really order vs chaos. A chaotic race can't progress since there is no stablity to allow research and development, a ordered society would have great advantages since it allows for stability. So really no race
Surely if you have terraforming technology you should be able to transform into an Earth like planet even after bombardment. Think of it this way, you could live on Mars, bomb the crap out of it and then terraform the planet, and I'll highly doubt that the bombardment would have ANY negative effect on that. You should have the ability to pay to repair the planet, like a one of cost not to improve it but to repair the environment after a war. J
You're kidding right GalCiv2 is good but it as lightyears of room for improvement. I already have posted numerous ideas for tweaking and adding to the game. J
I wish I knew what they were singing... If its english its got me lost. J
Imporator can you possibly give me a link to where I can read the first book of this Perry Rhodan series please, you got me curious now, oh and in english as well since my german is, well, I know no german. J
You know what is fracking freaky about that story!!!! I wrote something incredibly similar to it just a few years back, and I've never heard of this guy till now. In the latest version of the story the hero is given immortality and power by the first sentient being in the galaxy called the Creator. Sould awfully similar to Perry getting his long life from the IT. YIKES! I would be verging on copyright infringment without even knowing it. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s
My ship was mostly a gun ductaped to an engine though... ROFLMAO! Thats how all my ships are! "All your base are belong to us" Isn't this suppose to be read "All your base now belongs to us" I don't get this statement at all, I think I hea
Yeah I found that the other day I had ENORMOUS problems seeing my ships on the mini map when I accidentally pick navy blue as my race colour, it was so dark I could hardly see anything at all. LOL. J
Let me just reiterate how absolutely crucial rapid expansion is. I have got it down to a fine art, to the point where I can crush the AI even on incredible (note: only tried duel on tiny maps). The AI cannot cope with a properly exectuted colony rush, at all. I am writing up a report of a game I played last night and I will post it (with plenty of screenshots) to demonstra
To: Citizen Admiral Lohengram What race ship set did you use and how did you get such amazing shapes, it looks like you are using multiple hulls??? J Kudos to your designs that are sleek and effective.
You could make a archive category system in that application that allows you to sort the designs depending on what the user wants. List a Terran Hull Cruiser as a denguin frigate etc... Also the application should allow a much more flexibility to the design process, at the minute getting a component into the right part and orientation can get trick after you've added a few parts. Whatif you could have a wireframe mode that allows you to see the wireframe of all the objects joined but
I played against the dreadlords on Tough, I must admit they were pathetic, they beat me though but for about half the game I was owning them. Chances are that I could of beaten them but I didn't want to play another few hundred turns to see so I started again on normal and beat them really quickly. I've yet to play the sandbox version of the game. I think that might be harder for me, since all my combat experience as been against the Dreadlord, those guys use completely different tact
A common problem of 4X games is that initial colony/city placement can often decide the game within the first fifty turns. This leads inevitably to a game strategy of frantically pumping out as many colony ships/settlers to grab all the best sites. This can get rather repetitive to say the least, is limiting strategically, and means unassailable leads can all too quickly b
I've noticed this in the campaign game when I was fighting the dreadlords, they were flying all over the map without having any colonies of SBs... I find that a bit odd. This also seems to be true of their sensor range, they spotted a undefended colony 3 SECTORS away from their homeworld and sent a transport straight to it. Thats just messed up I also had a frigate go straight to a ship sitting 3 sectors from their world. I can't believe it, before I was able to hide just outside their sensor ra
I found that building FAST cargo ships with 4 x type 4 phasors from the beginning tends to win me the game VERY easily! I have yet to see the dreadlords even use defensive tech yet, they put everything into weapons. Yet another exploit that works wonders... Sod the big hulls, all you need is plasma/phasors/warp drive and you've won! J
Booo the diplomacy system in GC2 sucks uranus. LOL No seriously though, I only ever use to it trade tech and basically that is pants! Stardock, come on do better, what about having a economic treaties, research treaties, free borders treaties, non agression treaties. The possibilities are endless. Non-agression treaty could be the answer to all our border woes. Instead of just sitting there watching a fleet of transports near your homeworld and have fuck all chance to tell
Yeah I hate the fact your ships can get beat up and take forever to repair, and if I recall correctly before you get the necessary tech. Ships and bases don't heal at all, which seems insane to me. I think ship should be about to repairs naturally by 25% each turn, so it pushes the importance of pushing on with attacks. I've seen no end of DL ships just wondering around forever with damages and no one attacking them. I do of course! J
FRACKING AWESOME ALL OF THEM, MAKE MY DESIGNS LOOK LIKE a streaming pile of poo! Keep up the amazing work! J
I've just started Achilles Heel for the second time this week, the first time was pre-latest patch and on Tough difficulty. I did reasonably well and held my own and even at one point looked like I was going to win. After the new patch came out I install it and restarted this mission on Normal level difficulty, immediately from the outset I noticed bazaar behaviour from all the AI, thing I had not noticed in the previous games. I decided to use the following strategy to win the game I
Fixed the 5 planets on all stars bug, apparently it is to do with the my game/player files in my documents, after I deleted them all except the savegames it stop happening. Odd! J
