How about experts and famous people. The Galactic Megastar Pelvis Arsley is going on tour. For a mere $$$ he will give concerts on your planet for 3 months. This will raise your approval rating by x%.good to neutral races will not suffer any alignment penalties .As mega stars go he is a modest and well behaved star. The weapons scientist Dr.Doom is going on a lecture tour. For $$$ he will lecture on your planet for 4 months raising your weapons research level.Dr.Doom has be

Tiny galaxy.Crippling difficulty.Thalan,Drengin,Iconowhatever there called.Lots of trading peaceful, holding my own in all categories except military.I had enough production to grind out large ships if I could just unlock the freakin hulls.Drengin had frigates,Me, Star fury and defenders.Me and the Thalan start squeezing the Drengin with influence starbases. He flips out after I read on the relations report that he knows what I am doing.Well he went through me like a hot knife through butter.<br/
Were these all on tiny maps? You have to consider that on a larger map you are probably less of a threat.Would be interesting if someone did a comparison of map size to aggression. If your playing on suicidal also you probably get to a position of seming weak faster since the aI gets an economic benefit which gives it faster growth out of the starting gate.
Yes just rename your file to a name which is already in the folder in the game.I have my own main theme which I composed which works like a charm,so I know it works.
never mind.loop freighters are smaller

I don't htink currently they are different.would help out when playing with icons.
When things slow down it would be nice to have a drawing tool and text ability like civ4.This would help with strategy and posting AAR's.With the icons on I could get that war room feel,ya know.
Remember that what I proposed would only effect unaligned races. Those with same alignment would be free to trade as much as they wanted. This would apply to minor races as well, which would cut down the overflow of trade and slow it down some.
Well some people were complaining about the tech trading homogonizing the fighting part of the game.thought it might be a possible solution.
In general you have colonizing phase. Purchase and build colony ships and send them out to find colonys.Might have to buy scout ships on larger map. Put survey ship on auto survey. Colonize planets. If you find a resource build or buy constructor to occupy it with a starbase. Building phase. Build factory, farm on each world.Later specialize palnets depending upon tile specials. Research Universal Translator to talk to other races. Watch your approval ratin
Tech trade points would only restrict trading techs with races that do not have your same alignment. Example: Each race would star out with 100 base tech trade points. The farther away from alignment the higher cost of each trade in tech trade points. If alignment difference =0,then cost per trade is 0.No restriction. If alignment difference is 1 then cost per trade is 30 tech points.(100/30=3 possible techs to trade with 10 left over. If alignment diffe
I think they tweaked building speedy ships over long range, wonder if this had an effect.
I'm wondering why my freighters go out a ways and then angle toward the civilizations destination?Do they follow sector squares for their routes?
Social production bonus for communists? (cough, cough)Maybe a military bonus and a low rebellion rate.Definitely espionage.
Going to the research and home planet are in there on purpose so you can remember what you were doing from the time you saved. It does a lot of things on restarting a game that aren't necessarily bugs.
your freighters are invulnerable from attack permanently.
In a huge or gigantic galaxy with even 4 or five opponents this ain't happening.
Standoff Missile Tech. If you have faster speed than enemy ship,in real combat you would control the distance of your ship to the enemy if you had missiles with long range, you could utilize this to have an advantage. You could reflect this by giving a slight % damage increase to missiles or a lowering of ECM or antimissle effectiveness.Researching Standoff Missile Tech would unlock this increase. Ship Tactics-Beam Tech. Beam weapons.Because energy disperses over a distance a beam w
An idea which would generate random people that you could coax or hire to live on your planet and boost your stats. Hire a diplomat to help you stop a war. Hire a famous sports figure to improve entertainment thus happiness. Hire a famous general to give you the ground war edge. Hire a famous scientist to help boost your research. People might come with baggage that could effect your alignment. Hire a famous or infamous assasin to take other famous people out bei
I have been testing freighter stuff.First of all upgrading your freighter engines and trader modules have no effect on the freighter once it gets in the loop. The speed will go back to one and there is no jump in trade value with more trade modules.Second,it says near your home planet the trade route value gets less, but that seems to be only outward bound, after it returns it holds the highest value until it reaches it's planet of origin. One way they might make trade more effective is the faster e
When I use the blue cascading event buttons,(right click to launch) it doesn't bring up the population loading screen for colony ships.
Saved the ship and crashed to desktop. Then all future loads are unstable.Thanks.Shouldn't there be a screen telling me I need another component?
