I think a lot of us have just learned coping strategies. Try designing blank hulls for every size/type (i.e. constructor hull, freighter hull, large hull, huge hull, etc.). Save them as, "Standard ___________" (again, that would be "Standard Constructor," or "Standard Freighter," or "Standard Battleship"). Now, every game, you upgrade those standard designs with whatever state-of-the-art wea
Indeed. How perfectly terrifying to think that in some datafile in some databank in some government server, THEY KNOW! Gasp! I'll never watch Cinemax again.
Brilliant, as always. Edu-tainment of the best kind. Or, if you prefer, enter-cation.
I think that'll wrap up this little section just fine. Stay tuned: the next post'll detail the Battle of Earth. Cpt. Norrington, Lt. Hyksos, Como. Levy, and her son have their work cut out for them.
She gripped the bulkhead and stared into the floor, steeling herself against her fear. “Beggin’ your pardon ma’am, but Admiral Rencheyev has ordered us to general quarters.” So it begins , she thought. “Commodore, communications uplink with Fleet Command Station Jupiter has been interrupted by…” I love you, David. God help you. “…Sir! We’re getting a mayday from fighter screen Delta-Three…” God help us all. <b

Good news: You just saved a bunch of money on your car insurance by switching to Geico?
Are you sure that the ratio of food/civilians is 1 megaton/a million? If so, that is a HILARIOUS observation.

She frowned. The display was unchanged. Simulation number 43 was complete, and it yielded the same outcome as numbers 1-42: the defeat of Battle Group Sol, the complete destruction of Earth’s orbital defense platforms, and the annihilation of the Earth Defense Forces on the surface. The only discernable difference in this iteration was that the imagined invaders had employed poison gas, releasing it over the planet’s population centers. The results could only be called “overkill.” Once the
I've expressed it before, but it merits repetition: I love this game with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. The infatuation stage has passed... this is love. Ya'all should rest assured that the product you have conceived and continue to work on is superlative. I salute you, one and all.
I dunno... I think the graphics mentioned are adequate. Invasions are not resolved tactically - essentially they are just statistical comparisons. The "battle" animations are therefore fitting, if less than enthralling. The 2-D planet maps are again, functional. What more is necessary? The "tile" system is a basic gameplay mechanic, and is well-implemented on the maps. I don't mean to be overly challenging or confrontational, but it seems to me that the graphi

****************GNN Priority Blue transmission****************GNN Priority Blue transmission**************** …This is a Global News Network Special Report… Sources inside Terran Starfleet have informed GNN that a Drengin attack on Earth may be imminent. This disclosure came only minutes after GNN obtained the communications log of a civilian freighter under government-contract that was en route to Wisp in the Altarian system. The log indicates a series of distress calls w
My sincere thanks, Juan Rayo. And don't worry, the story won't end until it ends . Don't worry about your English either. Seems peachy-keen to me.
Not familiar with Hamilton. Any titles you'd recommend as an introduction to the author?

Without warning the lieutenant’s peaceful musings were interrupted by the deafening blare of the alert klaxon. “Damn, damn, frackin’ thing!,” she yelled, as she struggled to mute the offending siren. Just as she cut the sound, the hatch screeched open, and Donald Mason stumbled in. “What?... What’s?... What the hell is going on?” “Shut up, Donny, I don’t know yet,” Hyksos snapped. She accessed the communiqué that had set off the alarm, and began to read it aloud for Mason’s benefit: <b
Lieutenant Adrianna Hyksos stared blankly at her monitor. The elegant dance of Jupiter’s many moons as they circled the giant gaseous planet made for a spectacular scene. A spectacular scene that Hyksos had seen over and over for the past 2 weeks. With a sigh, she brought up another beautiful image: this time the rings of Saturn were diffracting the Sun’s rays into gorgeous patterns of oranges and yellows. Patterns which the lieutenant found all too familiar. Disgusted, she punched the cont
This is the next chapter of what's becoming my favorite way to pass time @ work. Enjoy (if you like this sort of thing...if not, I don't suppose you'll enjoy it...). Oh, for those that haven't read the first bit (a.k.a. the vast majority of you), here's a link to the original post: Link
Brilliant ideas, though. I love this game with the fiery passion of a thousand suns, and worship at the Temple Stardock, but I do occassionally find myself wishing for more... incentive to build specific weapon/defense combinations to create specific ship "types" or "classes". A navy of ships built to fulfill specific roles = cool.
