Thank goodness Chris Taylor is here to tell me why I didn't buy Crysis! Here I thought it was because it was a bland game with insane system spec requirements that was widely greeted with apathetic underwhelming 'ehh' Only now do I realize that it was because I wanted to steal the game...I can't beleive Ive been so stupid and lazy...I've got to get on those torrent sites straight away before I remember that I don't care about Crysis at all and am deeply

Yes, I took the ships out of the Trek mod and use them for regular games. I dont use the actual ships, just the models to make them look trek, so the game plays the same, just has trek ships. Takes a bit of editing the files, but works great. You just need to edit a few XML files. What I did was take the KHSM fake terran hull files, and paste in the startrek edited startrek hull info. You need to change the XML file so that the {hull} and {/hull} are changed to {structure} and {/
These forums are for the benefit and aid of the Galactic Civilizations community. While Im very sure that many off topic subjects abound, and there are even forums designated for other things, in the end, it is all for a community of gamers, game devs etc. Overty political, and/or inflamitory posts are bound to be delt with quickly, and with good reason. Ask yourself, does this post add anything to the community? Does this post, and or its subject line contain inflmatory bu
I personally love multiplayer games, however, this type of game doesnt lend itself to it. It can be done for sure, but its just not the same game when you do it (and I dont mean that it would be better). Since turns take upwards of several minuets each at some points, and just seconds at other points, depending on just where your empire is, you end up with one or more players waiting what will seem like an eternity for them.
For my 2¢ Its neat seeing the glory and 3d battles and all, but in the end is is 100% eye candy with no real representation of actual goings on, just we get to see the numbers being crunched. That said, I would like to see a bit more control, but not down to the Moo2 level (that was insanity). Here are my silly ideas for a game thats likely several years away...LOL Free camera (with presets of course) but I want a much larger starfield/battlefield area, with complet
Is it still the ultimate space speadsheet simulator?
Wolf 3d would scare the living crap outa me waaaaayyy back when. Sure it looks cartoonish now, but back then it was amazingly realaitic, and like a good book...your mind filled in the rest. You'd walk down a hall, and a blue german would jump out and scream somthing...I swear, If I hadnt been so young, Id of died of a heart attack.
A carrier would be a way to quickly bring ships with no warp engins of their own into a far off system. You could just make them part of the 'fleet' thingy, and so the only real change is that a non warp drive enables ship would 'tag along' with the mothership. Interesting idea for sure.

A happy day for lovers of the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise, as it will now be released Starforce Free. I have no idea what the final straw was that gave UBI the push it needed, but all the negative attention receiently must have been a factor.
With so many games now having massive PDF files, and much of the future being online distrobution (Ive bought more online distros than box software in the past 12 months), it became clear that a good cheap laser printer was a good thing to have. Now that they can be had for under $150.00 (without any evil rebates) and they print fast and two-three thousand pages for ~$60, its no contest between an inkjet and certainly beats paying Kinkos! S
Perhaps we can get apolyton.net out of the Sony DRM dark ages and get DOWNLOADABLE AUDIO for the interviews. For craps sake, who though this stupidity up? As a long time supporter of Stardock, it pains me each time I see this kind of short sighted ignorance. You think they ever heard of the portable MP3 player? Maybe they want to be sure almost noone listens......really disapointingly pathetic
