Thanks. I wonder why they used two separate words and two separate icons for it. It only confuses people.

What is the difference between morale and approval? Are they the same thing? There are planet tiles that gives approval bonus and there are buildings that provide morale. Are they really the same thing? It is a bit confusing.
I just finished a game as Drengin. 3 tough opponents (Altarian, Arcean, Iconian) and 2 minor races (Paulos and Jagged Knife). I fought against Iconian for a long time while Altarian got really powerful economically and technologically (Arcean was a non-factor). Finally when I finished the Iconian, the Altarian had caught up with me militarily. Initially, I was winning my battles against her but since she was economically and technologically superior she started surpassing me militarily as wel
I thought of this while playing Arnor on an Immense Galaxy in my last game. I was having a hard time locating my specialty square (+100% Manu., %300 Research, etc.) planets in the Civilization / Planet List screen. Wouldn't it be very useful to have little icons of specialties right next to the planet names in that list? Then you can quickly find and go to your 300% bonus planet. I think this would save a lot of time in big galaxies.
Very good ideas. One can also look at how the council stuff works in Alpha Centauri and MOO3 and get ideas.
I totally agree. I always wondered why anomalies wouldn't regenerate.
I also want to have more control on UP addendums as well. Being able to set certain things (like the planet in this case) is nice. One thing that also annoys me is when you get the addendum you don't know what it's gonna be ahead of time so you're voting it blind since the screen is frozen until you vote. It would be nice if you could go back to the game screen and weigh your status and options before you vote.
I see. So how often breakouts happen? Do you usually want this addendum for yourself or not?
This addendum seems positive to me by reading the description (50% production bonus to the housing planet). However, I noticed all races vote for others. Surely, there must be something bad about this that I'm missing. What am I missing?
In almost all of my games, Yor usually wins the game or is my most powerful opponent. I too noticed that Drath doesn't do very well in general.
I name them something like 0-9-0 0-12-4 meaning it has 9 missile attack, 12 missile defense and 4 mass driver defense. I may throw in a few extra letters at the end if the ship is fast or has sensors etc.
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but I always find myself doing math while designing ships. The designer show space used / total space like 18/124. It'd be nice if it also showed space available so I don't have to subtract 18 from 124 to find out how many shields (7 space each) would fit. Even better it could show how many of those items you can fit when you select an item to add. Oh also unrelated to this, are they gonna fix the bug where UP Council still shows dead
I remember reading a post(s) by somebody demonstrating how beam weapons are superior (giving you the best bang for buck) to the other two types. Is that still true today (v1.2)?
Hmmm... Ok I see. It's not going to be pretty cos that pretty much means I'm gonna fight both Thalans and Iconians (which are #1). They are ally. I just allied with Thalans. Now all I need to do is to somehow make Iconians ally with me.
In my game, I got message saying Thalans found an ancient artifact of immense power and if I don't destroy them soon they will get powerful and enslave me. Should I take this message seriously and attack them? We're at peace (close) and they have Iconian allies which are strongest (There are only three of us). Or is this message one of those messages that don't mean anything in practice? What does it actually mean?
One kinda small thing that bugs me since Gal Civ 1 is how the civilization bonuses are displayed. Everything has a % sign whether it makes sense or not. Economics: +25% (Makes sense) Logistics: +9% (Doesn't make sense) Trade Routes: +3% (Doesn't make sense) Can we label them correctly? It would be also very nice if you could put a short description or tooltip to show what it meant. That is when you say Trade R
I can't find the sector information feature. There used to be a button at the top center of the screen that showed the influences (in numbers) of each race for that sector in GC1. Was this removed or moved? Maybe I'm missing something.
Needless to say I'm very frustrated. I usually have a cardinal rule. I never pre-order because if a delay (like this) happens you're stuck with your pre-order and have to wait a few days while everybody else can go and buy the game from another store the day it is out. Well, lured by the extra goodies (and to support the developers) I decided to pre-order from a Gamestop retail store. Big mistake! Yesterday, I was told they didn't have the g
I was reading the ethical alignment section in the manual and I came up with this question. in GC1 at least, evil choices within the game always gave you the most and good choices gave you the least. Therefore for balance, good civilization bonuses should be better than evil civilization bonuses (or selecting evil alignment after the xeno project should be more expensive than choosing good alignment). Do you think good bonuses are better than evil bonu
I can't seem to find the search button in this forum. Am I missing anything or there is no search feature? It is a must have feature for all forums. Can you please add?
