I don't think there are any canned ships, except as the AI is concerned. I've built some very nice custom ships on large hulls that have outmatched the AI's standard Battleships. I wonder if we are able to export our custom ships for other players to import into their games? (provided they achieve the proper requisites of course).

Small bug encountered yesterday: I started a game as a custom race and selected among the other AI race the Iconians which were the only ones I set as "Allied". The Iconians remained allied throughout the game however, I kept getting popup messages from the Iconians declaring war --- and although the logo and name of the emperor was Iconian, it substituted the horse-like Iconian leader with the preying mantis leader (belonging to that other race) which leads me to believe there is an

There doesn't seem to be a single thread repository for reporting bugs, so I will post mine in this thread and update as I play more. Overall, the game is terrific. Just as reference, I got Civilization 4 two weeks ago and have neglected it in favor of the GalCiv II Beta the minute I downloaded it on Friday. Here's a short list: 1- The games crashes and generates an .exe er

I've had this bug too... Once a custom ship is saved, I can go back in (upgrade) the saved custom ship and remove all the "extras" (i.e. eye candy components) but not the weapons, defenses, modules..etc. components. For example, In order to replace on laser on the old design with a newer laser, it seems to require me to "clear" the whole design and start over from scratch. The "remove" button doesn't work for anything except the "extras", and the other components such as weapons no longer appear

I see other users are having the same difficulty with the lack of disclosure about the absence of a downloadable Beta until the end of October... I'm probably playing right into Stardock's hands, and the closed Beta 3 perhaps aims to achieve this, but I ordered GalCiv I the beginning of last week so that I can get a feel for the product, and I'm pretty excited! I've been playing the game every night since the time I ordered it. <img src="smiles/Cool.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle

Reading through the mock/beta user manual posted by Frogboy here: https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=162&AID=87351#673497 The screen discussing the Domestic Policy screen states: "When elections come, the AVERAGE morale (not the snapshot anymore) will be what determines the election" uhhhhhh.... No. There will be no elections. My species worship an authoritarian deity with absolute power (Me)... and anyone who says differently gets stuffed into a Diebold ma

I don't understand why there should be deadlines for the Betas. If you pre-order you should get whatever Beta is available at that point, period. Its obvious we're dealing with programmers here and not salespeople or customer relations experts. I am actually somewhat bitter at this experience and considering asking to be taken off the pre-order list. If a customer wants to give you their money in order to have immediate access to a glitchy Beta that they can play over and over in 5 s

You're saying we have to wait almost two months, salivating while watching others in the forum get playtime in with the Beta? Where was the window expiration date for Beta 3 posted on the pre-order page? I hope Stardock will make this right for those of us that ordered this weekend and allow us to download Beta 3A and then add text to the pre-order page stating when the next Beta is available so that others aren't piping mad

Sure, when I bought the game on Friday, it would have been cool to start playing the beta right then. But I'd rather StarDock kept working on cool stuff like their WindowsBlinds product and GalCiv II than fully automating this website. I agree, however it would have been nice if they designated an employee each weekend to check on orders and fo

I pre-ordered the game as instructed above. I don't see where I should go to download the Beta in Stardock Central. No version Beta or otherwise of GalCiv II is listed in the games download section.

I would like to purchase for immediate download the most recent Beta of the game and receive later (February 2006?) the final version on CD? I am somewhat confused by the choices on the "Purchase" page. Which one of the below options accomplishes what I want to do: Galactic Civilizations II (BETA and Final Release) $44.95 $44.95 Galactic Civilizations II [CD] (BETA and Final) $44.95
