Hah, beat this one: one of my resource starbases disappeared! I can actually continue to send constructors to it to upgrade it, and the name I gave it is still there, but visually...no starbase. Just the resource. Doesn't seem to have affected by game, and none of the other races has tried to build on it. No idea how to reproduce it. Slightly off-topic, but I have to ask...why the relocation? With broadband, CVS/SVN, teleconferencing, etc. why do tech companies still insist on forcing everybody to be in the same town, all the time? It would be ideal for telecommuting, and is much cheaper for the company (even if the company pays for the broadband). Particularly if/when the telecommuting employee is willing to go to the company for the occasional needed meeting. I'll cut off my rant now...

Here's a weird one: randomly generated star names. Completely different names for stars each time you play would be nifty. The star names now in use could be the template for the randomly generated names...I have code that does this handily in several languages for my own games.

This is similar to what happened to me: updating via SDC wiped out all the multimedia. I pulled it out of the archive (thank goodness...I'm on 28.8k dialup).
