No sound AFTER patch...

I downloaded the most recent update through StarDock, installed it and now when I load the game I do not get any music, or any sounds at all it would seem.

Any suggestions or has anyone else run into this problem?

If you go into the settings menu, is the volume turned up?

I'd suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling the game (and modules). Something might not have gone smoothly with the update. You could also archive downloads (if you can afford the space) through Stardock Central under the right-click context menu, so that you don't need to redownload if you should need to reinstall. Press Ctrl+R to restore from archive once you've archived an application.

I personally haven't had any reports of this issue yet.

I checked the sound settings in game, tried increasing and decreasing the slider, enabling and disabling sound as well, no changes.

I will try uninstalling and re-installing the game.

Thanks

I had this problem also. Everytime I would use StarDock to download the patch all of my movies, sound fx, music, and tutorials had been erased from the galciv2 directory. I had archived the program before I updated it so I just restored it and everything was back. I updated it a couple more times and restored it each time with the same results. I downloaded the patch for the galciv2 web site and it all worked fine. Now after I patch the program I achive it then zip the galciv2 folders so if it happens I can go in and manually put the missing files back. I have not had to do this so far using the patch that I download.

This is similar to what happened to me: updating via SDC wiped out all the multimedia. I pulled it out of the archive (thank goodness...I'm on 28.8k dialup).

I have the same issue. Did update from stardock and got no sound. After reading this thread I looked in the install directory and all my sound and movie files are gone.

Will try re-installing

Qabal, Brother Erryn, and balgy, can you please email the GC2 installation log file over to me directly at [email protected]

You can find the log file in: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\Installed\gc2.log

Okay, that's it. If Bagginz is up (in UK) then it's definitely time for me to go to bed.
