what happened to the missles that were in the original game??? i would always designate one system deep in my territory "ploaris" (for obvious reasons) and those systems would make ballistic millses. maybe the modders in here could come up with some ships that are actually missles. i would really like to see nuclear missles added to this game like in galciv1.
sendeth
well, you guys suck.
so does no one know, or haws no one else run into this problem. i consider this to be a bit of a bug since the only reason a civilization will ally with you is if you are as strong as them. and once an alliance is formed, a npc will never break it.
i said during the beta that we should be able to submit proposals.
i'm just curious what you all do with the minor civs. in case no one has thought of this, when i'm at war and my freighters keep getting destroyed, i give the minor civs a planet along a back edge of my empire in exchange for some of their tech. then i set up one main trading route with them and have all of my freighter leave one big system with 4-5 planets. then i build as many economy starbases around the major system keeping my trade route within al
nothing??? the same game.....the drath's influence completely enveloped the altarian space. now the altarians have NO home space and the still will not attack the drath.
you should just sell off your oldest models for influence points or techs. when you start building larger ships, you can sometimes trade 1 ship for one tech. maybe 2 or 3 ships if it is an advanced tech.
i got a free tech last night. you probably didn't notice because of a bug. it gives you the tech, but doesn't inform you until later. it tries to do stuff while the ai is taking it's turn.
the 2 most powerful civiliazations keep forming alliances, and it makes the almost untouchable. is there a way to break up an alliance between two npc's??? i often start fights between other civilizations in order to keep them from getting incredibly powerful, but when the top two join up, it's really tough.
the same thing happened to me once.
i also tried to update and now can't play the game. i even uninstalled it and it won't reinstall.
if you read my post, you would know that it was too early in the game to have established trade. even after i establish 5 trade routes with a neutral civilization, my relationship status still drops.
it waasn't available in that beta version.
yes, and we still make laptops AND pc's because they have different uses. you don't lug a pc around when you only need a laptop. you don't go get a laptop when you need a calculator. your arguement would make more sense if the older techs were made obsolete after a new tech is developped. but they are still available. and once again, NEWER TECH SHOULD ALWAYS BE LARGER AND TOUGHER TO BUILD. wow, we move from a crt screen to a plasma, but the plasma is easier to build and is
you can believe whatever you want, but it is always new tech that is bulkier and more expensive to make. look at cell phones, cars, computers, even military weapons like the lasers and microwave weapons they are putting on some hummers. older tech should never be tougher to build (in a compact design).
that's what i said isn't it??? i did realize after this post that they show up on the mini map anyway. my point is that i am forcing the u p meetings to be full, but they all just declare war. there is no parrellel growth in this game unless you are as powerful. they will declare war even if they don't have anything to fight with.
ithe computer put my engines on backwards last beta version.
i figured it out. see thread "nobody likes me" if you don't know what i'm talking about. the problem is that i put some relationship status for all race at the begining of the game so it does two things. 1 - it shows where the territory for each race is on the mini map so i can look at it in the begining to see if want that map or not. 2 - the u p meetings are full. the problem i am having is that every race declares war on me within the
deleting the folder worked, i mean.
that worked. thanks.
all i'm saying is that the size to weapon ratio is backwards. older tech is always smaller and cheaper. look at the ps1 and the remade mini. the mini ps1 still works the same, but runs smoother, is half the size, and costs half as much. THAT is how it works. not like on the game. the game is backwards. as for changing it in the game, there is probably a file with the size value in it, but i haven't looked. yet.
so you don't wany a up at all in the begining??? i guess it is mostly useless for the first 100 turns or so. also what is the deal with the minor races never taking part. minor races should be allowed to join the up if they become powerful enough. i had a game on galciv 1 where an initial minor race started in a really good section. by the time i found them, they had nearly conquered another main race. they ended up being my ally through the whole game because they never really get m
did you guys read the rest??? i don't care about the save games, i want to play a game. any game on galciv2. i was giving details to aid in troubleshooting the runtime error. all i know is the now i have paid for a game that doesn't work at all now.
i still would like to have a lower power class laser that is smaller and cheaper. what if i want to build a small fighter and it doesn;t look right with one laser 4, and so i want to put 2 laser 1's on each wing because it is aesthetically pleasing. it shouldn't be a big deal to make a smaller laser available that is cheaper and weaker as long as it is purportional to it's class (1,2,3,4, whatever). the same with the mass drivers and missles, also. they are all so big you can put maybe 3 weapons
i downloaded the updates today and my saved games wouldn't load. then i tried a new game and it would crash in the first turn over and over. i reinstalled, and now it won't even load. it says it had a runtime error and it was terminated in an unusual way. anyone else had this problem???
