omg, i was way overthinking that. thanks.

could someone please point me to a map creator if there is one? i have been looking and i have seen a few mentioned, but i can't find one that works. i have the latest galciv 2: twilight of the arnor. i know i used to have one for a much older version, but can't seem to find one now.
those are some good points. i do most of them, but never really thought about it. i always colonize the best planets first. also, the gradual step up for research is a good point. i will hold off on morale and factory research simply because of the reason that the newer ones take so much longer. when i go all out on moral buildings, i end up in trouble. that also gives you time to research trade and diplomacy techs to keep the other races from wanting to kill you.
i bought a new video card, so i will see how it goes.
i forgot to mention......now that i picked up at an earlier save, it seems to work fine. i don't know if this matters. also, it messed up just before it wigged out on me. the altarians declard war on me. it was a blatant error. my military was around 350 and theirs was like 40. yet they were almost hateful. they threw everything they had at me. just prior, i had good relations with them. then they go postal on me and kamakaze into my planets without a chance for survival. they wouldn't sign a pe
i was able to salvage from an earlier save. however, no i do not get the blue screen. i would still like to find out if anyone knows what it is so i can avoid it later. i go to load my saved game and it goes through the whole loading process. it gives me tips about economic resources and stuff like that. i hear a couple of the bleeps that prompt you when certain screens are brought up, the i hear a click, and the screen goes black. it goes to the crappiest resolution and everything looks solar
i actually signed on to say the same thing. it wouldn't be hard. just add an option like sentry or guard that adds a couple waypoints for the ships.
like i said above, my display driver crashes and my whole computer crashes. this only happens on my new save game. i downloaded the update, played for a night, then itry to play a couple nights later and it crashes. i can start a new game just fine. i don't know if it is a mod because i can't get into the saved game to disable them. nvidia driver is current, directx 9.0c, and so on. it worked a couple days ago. any help would be appreciated. i was really kicking some butt. i even had ov
all this advice is good, but there is something else you can do to earn a little money.trade with a minor race. what you do is give them a planet as far out as you can, but still able to bring reinforcements quickly. then you build a string of starbases on the edge of the map. i try to have one main trade planet in a corner. all of my freighters use this planet as their origon. that makes it easier to defend trade routes and planets. you build a backbone of military starbases (mainly to increase
the korx are robots and don't sway easily. i have had some of their planets in my space for an entire game without a rebellion.
oh, i guess i should have answered the question. yes, minor races are on.
yeah, i went to make another game and all of the settings are the way i set them, and minor races are no where to be seen. which really sucks, because i can rake in over 2000bc a month with them off trade alone. not to mention my loyal armies that i send forth to anihilate the other races. a little tougher to do these things with a major race.
well, even trade aside, if i give them one because i want a race to like me, it still barely raises how much they like me. if someone gave me an entire planet, i think i would be thrilled about it, and remember later on.
thanks
i apologize up front, but is dark avatar an expansion pack or a different game??? this is the first i have heard of it. i tried reading the existing threads, but i'm still a little confused.
do things with gas giants??? like nuke them and make a new star??? or maybe a bomb that can take out a whole system??? that would be sweet.
i believe the only mods i am using are: custom planets narakir political parties ability mod and 1 starbase module mod none of these say that they deactivate minor races, but i have taken over half a gigantic galaxy and haven't seen any minor races. they are not disabled either. is there a way to force them on??? they may not seem like a big deal, but i always use them in my strategy to rake in massive amounts of money, have a secure trading partner, and send l
i don't know if this is a bug, but the planets are almost worthless. i tried to trade 2 class 15 planets for a mining starbase (with only a couple upgrades), and the enemy wouldn't do it. on every game, i can only trade a planet for a few ships or something worthless. if i want to trade a planet, it should be worth a lot. they will only pay maybe 10000 bc for my planet, but the same class of planet costs me 50000+ bc. even though it would only take a few months to make back all of their money in
you guys need to lighten up. how would i know if you suck??? i just wanted an idea. any idea. i actually won that game, but only for a really wierd reason. the altarians gave me a fleet of ships, but it was more like half of their star bases. they gave me something like 10 of them. i also tried supplying arms to another race to fight them, but they just got wiped out. it just sucks when the top 2 civs like to stick together. i just wished the espionage screen had an optio
i'm glad everyone could stay focused and talk about this subject. half of these posts should have never even been written. i say i would like to see a mod, and other people want to tell me they wouldn't use it. who cares??? don't use it then. if you have something to say about HOW it would unbalance a game or be a bad idea, fine, but be specific. "i don't like them" or "it wouldn't work" are not valid reasons. and excuse me if i get pissed when i have someone point out that galciv1 an
wow ignuss, thanks for pointing out that they are different games. i mean, i know i'm so stupid i can barely breathe. i was wondering why i had to pay for the same game twice, but you just solved the big mystery for me. wow, they are TWO different games. oh my god, i have to go think about this for a while. you know, to let it sink into my stupid mind. maybe you could have actually mentioned some specifics on how i would unbalance the game, or ANYTHING
i just want cruise missle like in the game before. as for "need", you don't even need this game. it's a matter of "want". and just because you don't like them doesn't mean they shouldn't be in. and you can already put missles on the ships. i don't care about that. i like to send a fleet of missles to their larger ships before a major attack. as for "unbalancing" the game, that's totally rediculous. maybe you should play galciv1 and now what
if you guys had read my other post about minor races, you would exploit them like i do for a steady 1000bc a month or so using trade. that's the best strategy when you want to conquer everyone. but when i do this, i want to be able to see what is on their planet.
that's great. i can't see any details about minor races because i "need to spend more money on espionage", but there is no place to spend money on espionage for minor races. has anyone else caught this???
what happened to the missles that were in the original game??? i would always designate one system deep in my territory "ploaris" (for obvious reasons) and those systems would make ballistic millses. maybe the modders in here could come up with some ships that are actually missles. i would really like to see nuclear missles added to this game like in galciv1. i also posted in game talk, but i wanted to cover all of my bases. i hope som
