any fix coming for jan 16 update???

i also tried to update and now can't play the game. i even uninstalled it and it won't reinstall.

Considering that's a very old beta build and the game is scheduled to go gold in a week, I doubt it.

Going gold means the final build is sent out (on a gold-colored master disc, generally) so the game can be manufactured. That happens in a week. It will then be boxed, ready, and in stores near the end of February.

Right now the developers are working very long hours to get every last bug out they can in time for manufacturing. Anything after that has to go into the first patch, but since many people may never get SDC and the patches they have to get it as perfect as they can. So they aren't really going to have time to sort problems with a month old beta build (more than ten revisions behind the current gamma build).

wow if its one thing that i dont envy bout game design is long hours just thinking bout the time there spending now in front of there computers makes my eyes hurt

hopefully they get good overtime though

Does this mean the gold release can be downloaded as soon as the final build is send or do we have to wait till feb to get it ?

Yep. Brad has said they may open up downloads a day or two early to ease the strain on the SDC servers, but they can't go any earlier than that or the retaliers (who can't sell the boxed version until they get it on release day) would be *very* unhappy.

I notice the Stardock servers have been extremely slow this past week with my downloads. I normally get 300KB per second or higher and lately I average 60-80 KB per second. They need much greater bandwidth on their internet portal.

Yeah my mother in law and best brother in law live like 6 miles and change ( rougly 10 KM) down the road, wife grew up basically right around the corner... small world whether we want to admit it or not.
