I was having this same problem with Vista SP1, but your fix took care of the problem. Funny thing, my PC went to blue screen while playing the Dark Avatar. After that, I could not get my PC to boot until after I replaced the memory. But before I learned that the ram died, I reseated the original ram, then traded out the nvidia 7800 video card with a 7900, then tried an emergency PCI (not e) card, then reseated the CPU & heatsink, then finally traded out the memory, but with only one stick of r

I have this problem as well. After reloading a save gae, it will play ok for a turn or three. Then ships will stop moving and the turn button will vanish. If I knew how to attach the debug file I would, but here it is : Debug Message: Version v1.2 last updated on: Mon Jun 12 18:04:26 2006 Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 7/8/2006, 21:17:32 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: MIKE-OPTERON<
LIke my high school geometry teacher used to tell us: "Say what you mean and mean what you say"'. Words to live by. God rest her soul.
I think something has gone wrong with range. After reloading a game, I can't move my ships anywhere without getting an out-of-range message.
Following Peace Phoenix's suggested change to the Prefs file worked for me! The file was located in my C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming.net\GalCiv2\Data folder. Check it out! Although the button still goes missing now and then, but it has always come back with using the Find key after moving
Fullscreen=1.
I trying the alt-tabbing trick and it didn't work for me. Although I did get the Turn button to come back a few times by clicking arond the screen. I stopped working after the 3rd or 4th time, though.
Loading saved games doesn't work for me either. I will sometimes get a buffer overrun error.
