I am playing a 0.3h game and loading any save game after the auto-save game will crash. Even if I just save an unchanged auto-save game will create a crash. I'm playing as the Federation on turn 263. The autosave file will load but any file saved after that won't load. Any ideas? Sounds good. Thank you again for making this happen. [e digicons]5*[/e]
When will you be posting the 0.4 version as a stand alone? I've installed a clean version of GC3 and want to update it with 0.4 and make sure I have all the right files.
Why do you call this an alpha and not a beta? Alphas imply crashes and while I came in at 3f(?) a properly installed game has never crashed. Beta test stage is more like what you are doing now - play balancing and fine tuning features. Maybe because you are still adding features? But I think you will be finished when you finish adding features and the game as is is rock solid. I got GC3 when it was in alpha and now that was an alpha! :)
Thank you. I've been playing a very long 3f game but only saw the 3h version via Nexus. I'll install 3h on a PC other than the one with the 3f game. I decided to play as the Borg and am dominating. I'll play as the Federation in the new 3h game. One thing I've noticed is that when I create my own Borg ships they are white and blue rather than the green / black of the system generated ships. Why is that? Great mod, by the way. The best Star Trek game I've played in
How do you download the mod without using Nexus?
Could the mod be set up so that the "super" planets are more evenly distributed? It's great if a number of them are near you but it really stacks the deck. It takes skill out of the game if five are near you but none are near your opponents (or visa versa, which is what is happening to me in my first game). ;)
[e digicons]:blush:[/e] How embarrassing! I didn't have the two DLC's!!! I guess it would only work occasionally on Tiny because it randomly did not use any of those DLC's features. I bought them and will play tonight. Thanks for your patience in helping me out.
Thanks for the info. The GTX 980TI is a Nvidia card. Do you have an AMD CPU? Maybe I'll swap out one of the AMD cards and use an old 660 card I have.
I'm still having problems getting this mod to run. I've tried to run the mod on two PC's, both of which are Windows 7 64 bit rigs with 16 gig of ram. One has an AMD R9 390x and an i7 4790 CPU, the other a 290 and an i5-3570. The 390x will not run the mod at all, although if I turn mods off it runs fine. The 290 will not run the mod 3 times out of 4, but it did run a tiny game with the Borg. Federation and Klingons. You've done a great job with the mod and when it actually load
I've tried to play this mod but it can't load. It is looking in the wrong directory: Debug Message: ******* Starting Game Shell ******* Debug Message: InitializeResources. Debug Message: No files found matching mask C:\Users\ASUS-Z97-AR\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Mods\*.gc3wsdata I am running Windows 7 and the correct directory name should be My Documents, not Documents. Is there a way for me to fix this? Can you let me know what I need
I was having this same problem with Vista SP1, but your fix took care of the problem. Funny thing, my PC went to blue screen while playing the Dark Avatar. After that, I could not get my PC to boot until after I replaced the memory. But before I learned that the ram died, I reseated the original ram, then traded out the nvidia 7800 video card with a 7900, then tried an emergency PCI (not e) card, then reseated the CPU & heatsink, then finally traded out the memory, but with only one stick of r
I have this problem as well. After reloading a save gae, it will play ok for a turn or three. Then ships will stop moving and the turn button will vanish. If I knew how to attach the debug file I would, but here it is : Debug Message: Version v1.2 last updated on: Mon Jun 12 18:04:26 2006 Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 7/8/2006, 21:17:32 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: MIKE-OPTERON<
LIke my high school geometry teacher used to tell us: "Say what you mean and mean what you say"'. Words to live by. God rest her soul.
I think something has gone wrong with range. After reloading a game, I can't move my ships anywhere without getting an out-of-range message.
Following Peace Phoenix's suggested change to the Prefs file worked for me! The file was located in my C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming.net\GalCiv2\Data folder. Check it out! Although the button still goes missing now and then, but it has always come back with using the Find key after moving
Fullscreen=1.
I trying the alt-tabbing trick and it didn't work for me. Although I did get the Turn button to come back a few times by clicking arond the screen. I stopped working after the 3rd or 4th time, though.
Loading saved games doesn't work for me either. I will sometimes get a buffer overrun error.
