Hello everyone. When Galciv2 was just about to come out I had a question and a suggestion. They went like this: QUESTION: Would it be possible as an option to be able to move the camera on the isometric view to the horizontal axis and past it to see under the ships/planets? I understand this was once available in a beta but was subsequently removed. It was due to frame rates I think? Could it be put back in?? SUGGESTION: Vapor trails on the back of ships in

As the title says. I have now done this 3 times just to check before posting. The game has frozen all 3 times.
Hi, Please can someone tell me where to put the user made ships. I have tried creating a folder the GalCiv2 folder called ships and dumping all the files in there but cannot see the ships in the shipyard. What am I doing wrong, has a dev put up instructions of where to put these files as I cannot seem to find anything. Thanks in advance.
Hi, Ok, I created a folder called "ships" in the "galciv2" folder (eg. C:/Program Files/Stardock/TotalGaming/GalCiv2/ships) and dumped all the files into it but when I go into the shipyard, as the saying goes: "I SEE NO SHIPS" Have I done this right? Once again, thanks in advance!
I have d/l the imperial ships and tastys ships nut there does not seem to be any instructions on where to put the all the files. EG: .shipclass or .shipcfg. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance
Hi everyone, It's great to see a decent game rewarded!! Maybe all there publishers of other games may start taking note and making more of these type of games. Also, Thank you Stardock, Game was received from you yesterday! Collectors edition. Posted to the UK.
Well how about that!!! They weren't lying to us, it is a good game!!! 2 things, and I wonder if anyone agrees with me: 1. Is there an option to look from below the ship as well as from above on the tactical map? IT would give a great feeling of depth and size. If not, is it easy to put in? I am aware this can be done on the ship design screen! 2. When moving the pointer to the edges of the screen there seems to be a dead zone near the corners. I only seem to be
Installed last bits NP! Download stopped a few times but got there in the end. Looks great, crisp, clean and neat. One thing I would like to be able to do is look from below the ship, though purely asthetic. Oh, and one last thing!!!!! There IS an option to have the camera NOT snap back when in tactical view!!! But it does look nice, and I hope all the people who can't play just yet are really jealous!!!!
I been thinking a bit more about this and thought that as well as the length of the trails they could also be colour coded in some way. Not sure how though? The trails would only be visible to the player if they had researched the radar array or something similar and had put these on a planet or starbase or indeed a ship that he/she owned. So if the radar array technology had not been researched then the visibiliy would be very limited to say 1/2 to 1 sector. Then the higher the rada
Hi everyone, This is a re-post, because it's the best idea I've had in a long time and I want to share it with THE WORLD!!!!!! So, please reply and make a poor married man with 2.4 children very happy! I am looking forward to playing GC2 and have been looking at many of the screenshots of the game. Would it add to the game if a faint "vapor trail" say 3 inches long at full zoom was attached to the rear of the ships. It would only show if the s
Hi everyone, I am looking forward to playing GC2 and have been looking at many of the screenshots of the game. Would it add to the game if a faint "vapor trail" say 3 inches long at full zoom was attached to the rear of the ships. It would only show if the ships were actually moving, turning. ie. a ship that had moved on the last turn. If the ship had not moved on a turn it would not show a vapor trail. We could then get an idea of maybe where they were/ar
Hello everyone, I wonder if someone could clarify a query with the GalCiv2 pre-order i have. I have purchased the game CD which states $44.95+Shipping, but I have only been charged $44.95! Is shipping free? Part of the order reads: Description: Galactic Civilizations II [CD] (Pre-Order) Product Price: $44.95 Quantity: 1 So I assume I will have the CD shipped to me? Would anyone be able to confirm this for me? Many Thanks
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, though not new to GC1, and would like to ask a question: If I pre-order GC2 digital download only, will this allow me to take part in the beta testing(ie. play GC2 before it is released to the public). Thanks
