Query on Pre-order.

Hello everyone,
I wonder if someone could clarify a query with the GalCiv2 pre-order i have.
I have purchased the game CD which states $44.95+Shipping, but I have only been charged $44.95! Is shipping free?

Part of the order reads:

Description: Galactic Civilizations II [CD] (Pre-Order)
Product Price: $44.95
Quantity: 1

So I assume I will have the CD shipped to me?

Would anyone be able to confirm this for me?

Many Thanks

Where do you live?

That's just the pre-authorization. You won't actually be charged for the game or shipping until it's released.

I live in the UK.
However, I would have assumed I would have have been told how much the shipping was going to be before I comitted to an order?
Just a thought.

Thanks

Shipping for all countries outside US is $10, I think. It's still not bad though

But don't forget that it is very likely that you will have to pay customs duty

This can be 20$ or more.

Are you sure? I bought a few stuff from the US and I never had to pay customs duty

Depends on the local laws as to where your shipping. I was on a mission down in Chile once repairing an electronic system aboard a sub. Well to make a long story short, the part I needed arrived but the airlines wouldn't release it to me due to the +200 customs fee that was owed on it.

Turned out the Chilean govt had deamed anything with a cathode ray tube (CRT) was or could be used in a commercial application therefore there was this huge fee for having it enter the country legally. Before anyone mentions it SATO guidelines didn't apply as it was a CRT whether or not it was being used in and for a military unit was deamed irrelevant.

Anywho, again it just depends on where your address is as to how much that custom fee is going to byte you in your pocket book, whether thats carried in your pants, your man-bag or your purse it still just plain... bytes.
