Updates, espionage improvements, cranking out NotMoM, Gal Civ 3 later maybe: All great news. Thanks for the quick roadmap.

I agree that these two players should be banned from the metaverse. These are obvious cheats. As Mumblefratz points out: DJMJB first posts a defeat on cakewalk (why bother posting this at all?) followed by a victory on suicidal. Seems highly improbable to have this much improvement in such a short time. I would think you would have to try hard to lose at cakewalk. Seems like its a deliberate red herring as some sort of attempt to show he is a prodigy.
I've always run in full screen. What are the disadvantages to running in windowed mode? Is it slower?
I noticed that since Karma was implemented, my medals have disappeared ;p
Another technique I use for fleet management: When you have surviving veteran ships that are critically damaged, pull them out of the fleet and rotate them back to the rear to heal, replacing them with new ships. I also tend to use homoginized fleets, so that I don't have issues with which ones are being targeted, other than veteran status. I will typically use only a few current designs at a time: one for ships of the line and another cheaper version (smaller hull) for my backwater planets t
Yeah, but Duh's light fighter the 'MILF' might not be bad! :SURPRISED:
Yes, Thanks Stardock! I can certainly wait for a more polished TA while I continue to play DA.
Tibet isn't being ignored in the same way, but world leaders look at what doing something about it would cost and decide that people "over there" aren't worth it. Most Americans might like to protest about it, but ask them what they're willing to give up in order to do something about it? The enthusiasm wanes when people realize that telling China to play nice won't actually be enough to solve the problem, and real action (which carries real cost) is required. I think that people aren't a
Answer Q1: before you use the first colony ship click back on your homeworld to land the colonists that were on it to start, then relaunch it with max colonists. The initial colony ship does not start with max colonists on board. Answere Q2: you can use either a transport or a colony ship to move people between two already colonized worlds. Just launch with max pop from one, and land on the low pop planet. Next launch from the low pop planet w/ 1 colonist on board (won't launch w/ 0
I just purchased DA and TA. I never had a previous version, but when I installed 1.8g I still have the issue with 1.8e showing in the title screen. I have not noticed an issue with the pathfinding or MV error 12 (I actually posted a game and it showed as 1.8e), but I assume I have to go through the whole registry change thing IOT get the right version now?
Well I just joined the club, although my score was not great: 15400
I looked at the custom race, but the DL version's unchangable characteristics weren't what I wanted. Another mistake I made was disabling the minor races: for some reason I was thinking it would slow me down with more planets to conquer, and I wasn't thinking about selling them tech to keep afloat. This was my first try at ZYW, so I didn't realize a couple of subtle things. I'll get DA sometime soon, I was hoping I could get a boxed set of DA and TA, but it looks like that isn't going
With the ZYWs, I end on April 8th of year zero, but I've found that extending by 1-4 turns will raise my score just a bit more, if I'm still researching and not below -500bc. I'm not sure how you lasted almost a full year without going into debt. I dont use focus at all, but maybe other people do. it will definitely slow down your research though. Here is generally how my games go: turn 1 - lease buy lab on a bonus tile, research Xeno Research turn 2 - leas buy 2nd lab,
Sadly it also clasiffied me as 'very good' due to no colinization opportunities for evil, thus ruining my perfectly evil record.
I missed the ZYW by two turns! I think I went too fast on the lease buying and had a total economic colapse after I had taken 5 planets w/ 5 transports. The AI had colonized too many planets (with all rare settings I'm surprised by how many were available) before I was sunk by the leases. Interestingly I found that with military focus using 100% research I could still get production, even though I was way in the negative and not producing any research due to being less than -500 in the bank.
Go Avalanche! Sakic, Forsberg, and Foote are back together, so look out. Stastny is one hot kid, and Smyth has to be determined to get past the second round. The Av's/Wild games have been close all season long, so this could be the best series of the playoffs.
I second that!! I live in the Dallas area now, so I got really good tickets to the Reg. season game after Forsberg and Foote were back. Wore my Forsberg sweater, and was so disappointed that they didn't play. I'm h
@ KP, SB: Thanks guys. I'm hitting my self in the head now. I've seen some discussion on the Zero Year Win, over in the 'Year zero club' thread, but I didn't put 2+2 together. I may try that later to get some more bling. Personally, I prefer the big epic games where I can get most of the way through the tech tree. BTW: I should finally finish another win on a large for the Kzinti empire tonight. :HOT: After the win, I might actually upgrade my version and purchase th

Meow.
I've noticed Brad is #1 for a while now, but I want to know who is #2? I've only seen one other under 100 and I think it's CariElf at #63.
I usually go abundant all, on a large map. I just hate seeing those empty star systems, I'd rather see open space. I does take me a while to finish a game though. ;)
I liked the diversity of the races in MOM, especially the ones that gave you mana. I also liked the way you created a custom wizard/leader with specific spell schools using the books and/or other bonuses.
I like to set a rally point near the center of my territory and name it 'Central'. As I expand I add rally points closer to the border and name them using either a cardinal direction or an enemy empire like 'South' or 'Korx'. I always set them to fleet rally points so they gather the ships, but never to autoattack, I like to control when they leave. I try to set them in between several systems, and gather the ships from the surounding systems to each local rally point. I don't have separate o
I'm still only playing DL. I tend to design a fast colony ship after I get a couple of engine techs, so that I can beat the AI to the good planets. I usually play larger maps. I also rush build 1 factory and rush build colony ships every 3 or 4 turns. Another strategy I use is to expand toward the nearest AI and then turn towards the open space once our territories meet. I use a balanced slider strategy mostly, but have tryed the all factory with research focus, as well.
