Sounds like you got +50 in 'none', so your 'none' must be really good. [e digicons];P[/e]

This is with TW Cable. I am paying for 'Turbo' Road Runner to give me up to 10 MB. In a few hours I'm switching to ATT U-verse, but I only signed up for up to 6 MB (I can upgrade to 10 if I need to). So, I'll post the results after.
thank you. Wish I could say I was proud of it though... Basically no where near original. it's pathetic really I got news, I'm leaving. Depression has caught up with me and I find no enjoyment socializing or playing games. I'll leave my character in your empire kp, but i'm never coming back. This site just basically reminds me of what I can't have, imagination, my life. Don't make any sort of reply to this because this is the
The large majority of Kzinti members joined before we were #1, or even in the top three, so to say everyone has joined for a medal is factually incorrect. Can't say i agree with this. But whatever...
I know I joined before we were #1. Soon after I posted my first metaverse score, KP invited me to join (that's how he's built his empire).
Nice job, Snark. BTW, I like the pipe and hat.
Nice job KP! [e digicons][/e] [e digicons]:dur:[/e]
mmm 1987, the year I got my first computer (Tandy 1000 TX) as well as the year SSI got the licencing for AD&D. Pixilated orcs haven't stood a chance since.
Same for me (same computer, too!), although I was in high school. I used to really like SSI games.
Congratulations, Brad and Stardock! It does go to show you that customer satisfaction is the key to a healthy bottom line. I'm glad to see a gamer go from programing his own game to the CEO of an expanding empire. Brad: Don't ever go public and lose your ability to control the company.
Some of the best benefits I had was when I worked at General Dynamics, a defense contractor. Unlimited sick days (I only used a handful, but it was nice to know it was available), and everyone got the week off between Xmas and New Years, paid.
Yes. I work for Raytheon. A very good steady job in the defense industry. We don't have unlimited sick days, but we do get the plant shut down between the Holidays. Not expected to work much more than 40 h
Thanks everyone! Too bad it didn't last longer, since I got in near the end, but I really enjoyed it while it lasted. I'll be happy to participate the next time something like this gets going again.
I'm still in. I like the current format with the multiple game types. Anything that leads to a team strategy and prompts discussion makes the MVL more viable, as opposed to just averaging up some game scores. Any thoughts on a new recruitment drive? I'm relatively new to the MVL, and I have not gotten burned out yet. We've had a few new players over these last few rounds that have been flaky and fleeting, but if we got a few more new players that
Good games guys. KP: I think you have a scoring mistake. It looks like you only gave team B, 4 points for base in the speadsheet. They should have 16 and be the sole winner of the round. Congrats team B. Sorry to see you go Silverbeacher.
I just got home from Thanksgiving about 30 mins ago. All day drive from Colorado to Texas. My in-laws have dial-up [e digicons]x_x[/e] ,so I didn't really check the net much over the last week. I don't have a back up game and no time for one now, so KP's will have to do for team D. Sorry.
I read at least the first 2 or 3, but didnt continue beyond that. I think at the time I couldnt get any of the later books at the local library (before the internet, Amazon, etc). I see that there are now at least a dozen books.
I just started #11 on the Wheel of time, yesterday. I thought #11 was the last one published, because the author died. I'm hoping someone will pick it up and finish the series. #10 kind of dragged on a little, none of th
@ Silverbeacher: I'll vote for you in 2020! I agree with 99% of what you stated in your political views. I think our biggest problem from both major parties is that they are all about special interest and reelection, and not about representing the people. I think the founding father's vision was of the citizen servant that served a duty in office and then went back to their other life as a farmer, doctor, etc. not a career politician. The two things tha
While the above is obviously in jest, I still fail to see why anyone would throw their vote away on a third party candidate given the current system.
Because its time for REAL change, not the Obama different side of same coin. But I really don't like Nader either.
I guess I'm the only McCain supporter here. Well, there had to be one, right? [/q
Finally got a cold front in McKinney, TX: it was below freezing this morning! High of 69...another good number.
Ragnar: For which settings group was that game? Score or speed?

It should have been Speed since it was on a tiny map.
Yes, Speed setting #1.
Sounds like a rough game Ragnar! I think mine was lucky in that the with the planet placement, the AIs didnt have anywhere to colonize within 13 turns.
Yes, definitely rough. I posted some details in the team forum just a minute ago. Just not lucky enough (or patient
hmm... German beer is good (when you're actually in Germany... the stuff that's sold here as "German" beer is crap)
True that. I was stationed there for 3 years, I do miss the real beer. That Park Perminator was some killer stuff (11% alcohol if I remember right). Funny how the grass is greener: When I was first over there I was disappointed that I couldn't get Ales and Stouts, but now I miss a good Dunkel Weisen.
Good thing we're quick on the team confirmation thing. [e digicons]B)[/e]
Looks good guys, thanks. @ JustinSane: I like your idea of forcing us to use the less competitive races. I think that part of the appeal to the MVL is meeting new challenges and new ways to play. Your reasoning is correct in that with open settings, we will all play for the optimal and not select other races. I wouldn't mind seeing a future round that restricts all of us to a single unpopular race. As long as we are all forced to use the s
Welcome SB!
I also agree with the exception to allow VegJed's submission, RL can be a pain sometimes. @ VegJed: Sorry to see you go, hopefully you will be back for round 13.
