Yeah all of my scouts are Survey ships which I upgrade to Privateers when the Surveying is done. Why bother with a Scout that can't grab an Anomalie?

Some good thoughts there Nullspace...thanks. I think yours and previous suggestions will make for a better overall experience.
And Ahzi...while I like your naming scheme for planets...mine is completely different. I like to name my planets after ex-girlfriends. Helps me remember where they are. So far I have no problem with names in a Gigantic Galaxy~~~ Call me a Dawg, fine --
Ahzi...this is not something that needs 2 or 3 clicks. Just an option to "re-see the GNN" during a single turn so you know you didn't miss something...or can go back to it in case you hit "done" after the first couple -- which happens by accident way to often. Sort of like having "Done" hovering just over the "Turn" button on many screens. And the Minimap issue? Thanks Hatge for the support on that one. I'm sure most of us that are slogging our way through basically "playtesting" th
Good/Neut/Evil. Does anyone know where to find out what choice you made on a particular planet? (When the choice arises?). ie. I land and "Sentient Life, blah blah blah..." and I decide one one course or another for the development of that world. A one time shot. Where can I find out what I chose for that planet unless I write it down on paper? Would be really nice to know -- especially on huge/gigantic Galaxies.
Prokto...you make a great point! I for one, 2nd the idea of the option to "checkbox" one option or the other. Makes total sense in the Real World as well. Trade them your Mayonnaise no problem...trade them your Stealth Tech....no way. Excellent.
It would be most helpful if when we are greeted with the "Galactic News" items every turn and must decide on new items to build -- that we could see a small mini-map. I'm playing on a Gigantic map now...and when I get over 30 or so planets I start forgetting where they all are on the map. Especially over 50. I would like to know that if "xyz has built and Starport, and is now building Nothing..." just how close to the border of an enemy it is. Or is it in the rear of my Empire where it shoul
On a side note...it would be nice if...haveing scrolled down a list to ... oh let's say 25 out of 100 ships...that I wouldn't always pop back up to the top of the list upon centering and moving ship #25. This is pretty tedious.
Great....now I need to start a new game again. (and again and again and again~~~~) Happy for the improvement though of course!
Ah interesting....thanks for the insight. Makes it a tougher game then to leave tech trading on -- and that is the question I was really curious about. So are you also saying that the "Military Techs" are a bit more restricted in their trading between the AI's?
...I have shut off my Tech Trading option in this last game because I thought it was too easy for me to trade techs and gain an advantage as a human player. Then I wondered...perhaps Tech Trading amongst AI's would aid the AI's (assuming 2 or more) to thwart a human player during play. Question is this: Will the AI do a good job in trading between themselves to the harm of the Human player? If this is so, then it seems that Tech Trading must be turned on for a better game. T
...It occured to me that it would be a handy enhancement to the Ship List info if we could at a glance check through them and see what (if any) movement points they had left. Seems like there is enough room off to the right side to provide us with this info. Normally I have to click through the list, and glance down at the bottom of the screen which really becomes an eyestrain after playing for a 4-6+ hour stint. Thoughts? Or am I missing something?
haha well put. Looking forward to your labour-of-love. Ciao for Now~~~
Good effort! Get it done. Too many games not translated into Italian. (My Wife is Venetian and loves gaming ...then again her English is rather perfect ) Viva Italia in the World Cup!
Are you gents saying that if you put your Overall Spending slider at 100% that you are not recieving the full benefits of that spending? If that is what the OP and posters after him were carrying on about then I'd have to say that they are correct to snipe about it and something needs to be fixed.
Extra Survey ships should help you nab those high PQ planets before your opponents. They are not just for the Anomalies. The question I think is what to do with them after the exploration phase is over. In my case I don't scrap them, I upgrade them into cheap recon-hunter/killers.
Yes it seems pretty simple to me also. You set your sliders to what you need to prioritize at the moment, and unless you are at 33% with all 3 you are selecting one to be higher than the other 2. If you set Research for instance to 90%, and 5% to the others, then you are prioritizing Research with funding at the expense of the other 2. If you drop your Overall Spending via the slider above the big 3 then you are simply doing this to perhaps balance your account or negate the need to raise tax
The Find button for me is dicey. Sometimes it works, others not. I usually have to resort to open that ship/planet window and pop each entry one at a time. This becomes pretty unweildy after you have created Fleet groups. Any other solutions to look into?
Thanks for the answers gents. I usually build 7-8 Survey ships for a Gigantic map, once I have decent sensor range (II) and at least Impulse drives. When I've surveyed the whole map, or the ships have completed their "Assigned areas", I convert them to have some weaponry and turn then into Privateers (or Wolfpacks) for rear area harrassment of future enemies, and get them into their proper zones of patrol. These Privateers try to steer clear of enemy Fleets, but are great for Recon, a
I started a game with Gigantic Galaxy and Abundant Anomolies. There are a LOT of them out there. I have accumulated a lot of improvements to Troops, Trade, Morale, Ship bonuses etc. My question is this: Where can I see all these improvements listed in one place and are they still cumulative? Also does the AI get these same levels of improvements? Thanks for any answers to these questions.
Thanks Mike...anyone else with some input out there?
Gotcha thanks...I had a problem with trying to launch with Zero pop, and was thinking "wtf"? Good info gents thanks
