Just conquered a planet with this cheat/bug as well. Guess I should save the game and send it to you.

Format c:\ usually does the trick as well.... /Me being evil /Me running very very fast
Put up a few screen grap if you can. BTW, Why use the shortcut to get windowed mode ? It's right there in the options within GalCiv.
However / BTW Debug Message: Unallocated Mem: 8 bytes of memory from line 1135 of .\Source\editfields.cpp Debug Message: Unallocated Mem: 8 bytes of memory from line 1135 of .\Source\editfields.cpp That part would be interesting to get a comment of from somebody at SD ?
Considering the impact most AV software has on an system yes it may well be Norton giving you trouble. Look up on norton and how it works, then look up how drivers work and then compare that to how most user level programs and games work. Most system crashes I used to have were gone after I got rid of Norton, never had any program installation screw up any system I had since then. (Unless offcourse I did something stupid <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Sa
Well I find this a little strange. I'm not sure how you would have 502MB of physical memory (should be a power of 2, i.e. 512MB). This could be an indication of a problem with the memory in your machine. I'd suggest running a memory diagnostic. Looks like he has an integrated video and sound. (Could b
IMHO just get rid of Norton Antivirus, it's the worse you can have, has a tendency to destroy Windows installs one way or another. Either get Nod32 or some free solution. Norton is far to heavy for it's own good. That's IMHO and several bad experiences at work and at home / others.
or you could add some speed to your fighters and you would be able to catch the AI constructors. Jep. Made an Interceptor class for that purpose.. No need for big guns just a tiny laser lots of engines and some support and let the hunting season begin. Offcourse those Interceptors are not
Seems phbbt107 allready mentioned the res... I think I know when the edit doesn't work anymore... As soon as another post is made you can't edit the ones before..
Current Display Mode: 1280 x 720 (32 bit) (60Hz) Haven't read your other thread but the min res is 1024 * 768. so the width is good enough but the height is not, it must be 768 or higher. You can set it in the prefs.ini in "My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2" or delete it. If that's was allready
Not sure what you mean ? Seems to work for me (well, the way I expected it to work; click the {watch} button by the original post and check them by clicking {watch list} at the top)
You mean this game ? http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Maze/4979/starflight.html
Some things you could check; > the page file is corrupt; make a new one (if you don't know how just ask) > unplug and check any / all USB cables / devices > make sure you have no conflicting drivers (like the Audigy, there are third party drivers so you might have tried them once) > check for conflicting software like CD/DVD burning software. Some info for stardock perhaps here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q265879/ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314492/E
Whoopsie..
A completely other point (others have also mentioned) is that Ai doesn't research many different weapons trees anymore...normally they concentrate on just one (in my game now, nearly everyone beside me uses only mass drivers, in that before every one has used only beam weapons) and don't even research the defenses against other w
@joekraska Not the same. My game is insensitive to input. There is nothing I can do. Make sure you have no rally points set up on a planet (planet and rally point in the same spot). If a ship is on autopilot to that RP it will hang the turn. (It can be hard to see the planet under the RP,
well, it just happened again. Nothing I can see in the debug.err file, but here's what we have: When Windows BSDODs everything is halted immediatly, no log will ever be made that will give any clues as to why the BSOD happened. If you can give the first 3 to 4 lines of the BSOD we can look
I tried running in windowed mode, but I found that you really want to run the game in the highest resolution your monitor supports. You can with windowed mode if your desktop is set to the highest res just set the game in windowed mode to the highest res as wel.
My point is simple. You make a product. You sell it, you collect the money. If it doesn't work, fix it. With any other product out there in the world if it's broken, they owe it to you to fix it or replace it. Game has been released only a month or 2 ago. There have been more updates and patches then
Don't forget to turn off "show pre-release versions"
The game is old how many months ? There have been how many patches ? The Beta is how old ? I wouldn't expect any extra content in the first 3 to 6 months so what SD has done so far seems pretty ok. As for keeping us up t odate, they do a reasonable job, I hope they never give a fixed release date for any patch/program as it will slip and people will hang them for "lying". What kind of stuff do you program anyway ?
How do I reply using the Green Box Quote Thing? Select the text you want to quite and then click the quote button.
-researching and using terraforming. That's already in the game. Not in the way he describes; terraforming would alter a planet to a specific type and improve planet class . I ta
higher maximum number of planets per solar sytem: ten is a decent number. Don't think that would be possible. Not enough "space".
Have you any idea of the sort of computer you would need to run a game that big? Ever played Settlers 1 ? It's biggest map could take weeks to get close to the computer players (depending on starting positions) and weeks before you defeated 1 of the 3.... But you could only play the largest map if you PC was up to it (had the RAM). Does that imply that GC2 should do the same ? Not really, and SD did allready comment on map
