I'm still partial to large hulled battle ships. One of my creations can destroy an entire fleet of fighters or defenders. But they're slow. With fast freighters, you could go anywhere almost instantly. With a fleet of fast freighters, you could go on long range destruction campaigns and be back by dinner time. You would have to be like a boomerang though, attack, return

Hi Frogboy, Are you guys programming this forum software yourselves or is it from someone else ?
Sounds like a database error. AFAIK, these forums are programmed by Stardock themselves so I'm not sure about that. I suppose you can ignore it or inform the webmaster when it happens, give the time/date and what thread you wanted to put in the watch list.
Sure you can think of an example. Iraq! Lots of wars if not all were made to spread "goodness" , as said before it depends on the one who wins what is "good". Historic example "The holy crusades" (In the time of "King Arthur"). In a way Hitler preemptively defended Germany by attacking his neighbours (get them firs
The *DEBUG ERROR: ***Unable to find required tech ImpossibleTech for PirateShip. *** message seems to be in most error logs. Guess it is a left over somewhere for the "roaming pirates" event that gave the pirates some special tech that never made it in the final release but they forgot to take it out the "event".
Because I'm reall sure that StarDock doesn't need Mattel suing the life out of them... You do understand the concept of humor ?
"I'm not really a girly girl, but I created a Barbie race because the irony was so hilarious," she said. The race is complete with pink and white spaceships emblazoned with the Mattel logo, a social-influence racial bonus and a magenta user interface. "They look kind of plastic, too. It was really cute." Why isn't it in the final release as a s
Don't have that problem here. The forum can be rather slow tho. I think mostly when the US is awake as it seems more responsive in the morning here in the Netherlands..
Should not be hard bug to fix - so why not do it! IIRC Brad already commented on this.. There's no reason why the change of language affects the textures so it's hard to fix. (If you only know the sympton (sp?) and not the cause you can't fix it)
I have researched the Trade Tree (and all other needed techs) up and down and all around but still there appears no Frighter Design in the Core Ship Panel. So when do new Core Ships appear? Freighters also need one of the better engines IIRC and for others you also need to research the hulls and life support. Depending on what weapons/defences
Also had a question: any way to declare war without actually attacking? Put a "few" ships and trooptransports around their planets.. Let them declare war on you. Great if you have an alliance
The others ment RAM not hardrive space With that, you should have more RAM, but first you could try to increase your "page file" to 2GB and see if that helps. But Windows XP and only 190MB of RAM.. XP feels comfortable at 512MB, but if you can upgrade I suggest to get 1GB at least.
Go here https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=293 and get the Catalyst 6.4 Windows XP - Driver Download
You're welcome In my defence I used a online translation service Here's part of a debug.err we would like to see. BTW, it's no problem if you post the entire file here. Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA 4A last updated on: Tue Apr 18 13:16:01 200
and seer, it's pretty hard to follow your advices because i have finnish computer so name are diffrent. No worries. A quick and dirty translation.. I have no idea if it's accurate at all as I my Finnish is rather bad Te esiintyä jotta osata tok
calactic civilations has detecteed error and product must be closed You wouldn't happen to know if your machine has "DEP" turned on ? (Data Execution Prevention, right click "My computer, go to "advanced" and then performance)
The debug.err is just a plain text file. You can open it with notepad.
I ussually set espionage at a rather low level but still enough to get to advanced quick. I normally get techs after that so.. Not to much, some pretty useless to me (like getting laser 2 after another allready gave me plasma 3), sometimes the best that ever happened.. So no idea why it doesn't seem to work for you..
Forgboy, did you get the save game I send you at '[email protected]' ?
Did you reboot ?
If you select a ship and choose upgrade there's a small check box (just above the list of ships you can upgrade to) that allows you to upgrade all ships of the same type.
It would explain why the tiles are not buildable but still have something on them, it doesn't however explain the multiple "only 1 type per planet building" (like the starport)
its not using it to exploit... its not intentiall if you use a bug and your not even aware of it, are you cheating? Would be valid if the AI is a sentient being. No matter how good the AI is in GalCiv2 it's not even close to being Skynet. So it's unintentional, the bug is still g
Could you stop refering to a bug as an AI cheat. Why ? The AI is using this bug as an exploit and so is cheating. IMHO. No big deal anyway as it's rather minor. Just because the human player can't do it (AFAIK) doesn't make this not a cheat.
