Have some time off work and am planning on lanning at the end of the week so I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a new monitor. Expect a release before the end of February, hopefully the 17th. Thanks for the feedback Niels Kieldsen!
Drazi Freehold, the Brakiri Krona and the Pak'Ma'Ra as major races
It's just that they are perfect as minors. If other more random races are minors then they definitely wont have custom hulls (the Pak'Ma'Ra have none, so that would ru

I replied to your email GJDriessen, but the short answer is that everything is contained within the individual mod folders that live inside the root GalCiv2 mod folder. Try searching for a folder called "Babylon5-065-DA" or "Babylon5-065-DL". Currently I am in warranty hell :SNIFF!: because my beautiful 22inch lcd monitor is dead. Posting this by squinting at my crappy tv! Should be able to grab a small old crt monitor tomorrow but it could be ages till the 22inch is repaired. Once th

UPDATE: Beta 0.6.5 is up. Almost through all the models I can get all systematic with before searching for different copies of ones that don't play nice (can't be imported for editing). The really good thing is that once I've imported each model it will be relatively easy to rescale the lot. Now hosted in a friendly place, The Galactic Core Mods Site . Beta 0.6.5 *

Am still thinking about TotA myself Star Adder, leaning towards getting it but not totally decided yet. Racial techs in TotA sound very cool... Does anyone want to jump on board and get the tech tree(s!) moving? Icewyng?

UPDATE: Beta 0.6.4 is up. No major changes, just getting back in to the swing. * Scaled Minbari fleet, will probably use these sizes as a base for rescaling the rest Feedback about scaling would be greatly appreciated * Updated dummies on 45 of 105 models - Liandra model textures don't work in GC2 - Vorchan can't be imported for editing * Dummy intro movies * Purple, gree

Have been lurking in the extreme for a while now - kind of cracked the shits, as per a couple of rants in the bugs forum, had had enough of spending fruitless hours chasing glitches without knowing if they were caused by the mod or the last patch. But... the urge to get back in to modding GC2 has been building. When TotA was announced it gave me have hope that GC2 might have a lot of life left in it yet! So today, with new design principles tattooed on the inside of my eyelids, I will r

Any extra info is handy thanks Kryo, but without some kind of resolution to the issues mention above and here , It is impossible to release a major mod that isn't fundamentally buggy Maybe once "Twilight of the Arnor" is out... but I am so over it for now.

In a current game the Colonials keep building "Heavy Fighters". In the details of the ships the descriptions match the hulls but there are two hulls (both of the small category) being used for different versions of the same "Heavy Fighter" design. The model displayed is the same for all versions of the design but it isn't correct for either hull. I can't work out where any of the information is coming from (many sources it would seem) and the clincher is that there is no "Heavy Fighter" name or

Yes and yes. What is the AI's decision making process for making ships? Does it build them from templates or raw hulls or shipcfg files? Are there triggers? If it is more a script than a decision algorithm, what are the names of the ships it builds and at what times?

Thanks Drrider but I was referring to the starting ships of the AI - of course your own ships don't automatically start doing things when the game starts. Thanks for the response Kryo. With regards to the 'ships that the games calls' question, as well as event spawned ships I was also asking about AI designed ships. Despite what is entered in GC2Ships.xml, the AI appears to call designs with particular names. If the name isn't in GC2Ships.xml, then the AI wont make that type of ship. Sc

Have run in to a few hiccups trying to mod the starting ships... If the surveyship has both a starscanner and weapons then auto-survey can become auto-attack if two surveyships go for the same anomaly. This can be a pain when they also have reasonable engines (click, click, click...). Is it possible to change this behavior? I also started swapping the three initially spawned ships around - trying to change their configuration to a flagship (with weapons), a scout (with starscan

Thanks for the quick response! Who would have known the support forum was the place to ask such questions?!? I have lots of questions, but if I could ask just one more... Is there a (maintained) list somewhere of all the files that work properly in the modfolder? GC2_Hints.xml is one that comes to mind as not working, but that would seem logical to allow.

How are the ignore flags supposed to work? At the moment, when using a raceconfig.xml file in a mod directory, the following things happen: 1. The race doesn't appear in the "Pick Your Civilization" screen. This would be the main point of the ignore flag and it works great. 2. The race does appear in the "Choose Opponents" screen. Not sure if this is intended as you can add custom races via other xml files but it's no show stopper. 3. On the same "Choose Oppon

Not sure what the go is. Core designs disappear after loading a saved game. I have a feeling it crept in via a GC2 patch and isn't B5 specific tho - the same problem is cropping up with another mod I am working on. Have spent (wasted!) lots of time trying to suss out the disappearing designs without getting anywhere, any suggestions? And yeh, not dead! Just working very slowly Have to a

Ashamed to say that I've never ventured in to the Metaverse - but the models are named as standard hull components so I can't see why they wouldn't be compatible... Eager to hear how you fare Moosetek, thanks for the feedback. I probably should have a bit more detail in the text files that come with the models.

It's pretty much impossible to manually add components to the hardpoints on these ships, sorry if you've wasted lots of time trying! The intention was that they would be ignored because I assumed everyone was aware that: You can add components by double-clicking the component... a hardpoint will be automatically selected and the component attached to the ship. You can remove components by right-clicking the component in the list above the ship. <

BIG MTG: they should work for both DL and DA if you put the models in the root ...GalCiv2\Gfx\Models directory. It will be something like C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Gfx\Models by default. There is a catch tho if you plan to use the B5 mod at the same time as the BSG models - the normal hulls are disabled in the B5 mod so you would have to rename the BSG .x files or add ship component entries. This is not something I am going to support... for those that don't want to
