I only have the Dark Avatar add-on. Are their any mods that don't require ToA? Also, all the mod tutorial links are dead in the forums. Thanks!

Uh, did anyone else notice this line: " So we got talking, or I got talking, about what lay beyond the seven-hour game I'd just finished in reviewing an expansion pack for a game very few people bought." Okay, sounds like this guy didn't even do the most basic homework. Unless the #1 selling software title for a few weeks at Wal-Mart doesn't count. Even if the UK sales were off you can't make that claim without a mention of the chart topping US sales.
1.59.078 is the beta. Lots of work is being done towards the next build--don't let the lack of a solid ETA make you think otherwise. Thanks for the follow up, kyro!
The lack of any news at all on this is a bit disturbing. I have been running beta 1 for a good bit and have had only one CTD. I wonder what the deal is?
I'm surprised this one didn't get posted considering the posts about awards from some website I have never heard of before, but Games For Windows (formerly Computer Gaming World) gave DA a 9/10 and an Editor's Choice award. The review is in the May issue of GFW. Congrats, again, to Stardock!!! edit: Here's the link to the 1up.com article: WWW Link
Yo yo yo. I'm playing the... Yo, yo yo? What is this, 1985? Hello, Breaking 2:Electric Boogaloo called and wants it's salutation back! Nah, I'm just kidding!
Hmmmm. So the update I got last night via SDC (between 6 and 7 EST) wasn't the 1.6 beta? If not, what was it? It seems fine as I played a couple hours on it. Hey, bonscott! Small world. I'm over at DBSTalk too!
I agree. Are the Devs looking into making this an option in the future? Sorry to resurrect an ancient thread, but I have been running into the same issue lately. Put DA down for a while and now I'm back (and it is just as good as it was before!). Also, I just demolished a colony base on a captured planet and the plant's value went to 0. I have the latest patch of DA. What gives?
isn't this an option in the game setup? i mean, even at max it's slow. but i noticed i had to reset all my game settings when i downloaded DA. maybe double check that... if it even is an option. i can't remember. Yeah, that is the first thing that I checked and it was set to max. I even tried moving it and reseting, still no joy.
Screen navigation via mousing to the edge of the screen has always been too slow in GC, DL or DA. Navigate via click dragging, its faster, more economical, more precise, and you wont miss the other. That's not really my point though. For me, it WAS fine in GC2. In DA it isn't. I am not going to argue with you which method is more efficient (or better) because you are probably right, but I woul
Well, it turns out the Stardock answer was click and drag and not use the arrow keys. Either way the problem was not addressed and I firmly believe that it is a legitimate issue since it is a loss of functionality that was in the original program.
I just loaded DA and the mouse scroll speed when moving around on the main map is PAINFULLY slow. I first noticed this issue in the DA beta and posted here, only to be told by someone from Stardock to use the arrow keys or somesuch. I don't want to use the arrow keys. If I did I would not have noticed the slow scroll speed with the mouse. And I checked the scroll speed in the settings and it was set to max. I never had this problem prior to DA. Any he
I don't want a Media Center. I want to know what files I have on "my" PC and where they are without having to Google for them. I don't want cartoon character puppy dogs or paper clips to "help" me. I want a start menu that’s clear, concise and usable without having to hide a bunch of crap that I don’t want by using personalized menus. Yes, I do want to be shown hidden file
You can also scroll by just clicking and dragging with the mouse. I find it much easier and more accurate that way myself. That's true, but I have gotten used to the other method and it works fine in the standard GalCiv II. Also, how good does your method work when trying to cover long distances?
Has anyone else notice how much slower the scroll speed is when moving the main galaxy screen around with the mouse? I have adjusted this setting in the options screen to 100 and it is still much slower than GalCiv II non DA.
You are an apologist for the illiterate. You see yourself as a sort of Che Guevara locked in urban combat on Sesame Street in a war for a more egalitarian, lowest common denominator, "pan-ignorance" society. Damn! Now, THAT'S funny!
This thread is insane. I will therefore post in it. And I will, therefore, bump it.
Wouldn't it be nice to get some bias in the tech development for every race. i.e.: If a race spends a lot of time researching a specific weapon tech then that line of the tech tree becomse cheaper because of the affinity that race has with that topic, and other topics become more expensive. This means that it becomes beneficial to really focus on a certain pla
As a full on player who's been known to dabble in modding, I, for one, happen to appreciate the "retentive spreadsheet monkeys" who can extend the life of a game well beyond its developer intended lifespan on my harddrive. Especially truly shell games like Neverwinter Nights that live and die by the hand of the people who take it apart and put it back together in
Any chance of getting the option to NOT upgrade when a new building technology is achieved? Or the option to build older versions on newly acquired planets? That is a HUGE deal to me. Thanks!
my bad.. I was thinkin of the publisher micropose. But some of you get the idea. Just because the feature isn't there, does not mean it would not make the game better and vice versa. You've got it there, sort of. Microprose was the publisher of the SimTex games (MoO1/2 and MoM). Microprose was then bought by Hasbro who started the MoO3
Take for example Master of Orion 3. It was the developer's opinion that there has to be a new way of playing X4 games. They came out with certain features that seemed good on paper. Even the fans welcomed the change at first. They thought, these are the guys that made MOO 2, how can they screw up. Then when the game came out, they screwed up. Act
Good stuff. When will it be available?
I tried the demo and I agree with the previous poster that it is too "cartoonish". Also, I feel that the interface is not very polished, it looks amateurish. Maybe that was the aesthetic they were going for, but I didn't care for it.
We've resolved the issue and Quoting has been enabled for Firefox and Opera. Yup, it works! You just have to highlight the text first!
