Vast improvement! Excellent work!

Does anyone remember Shattered Alliance from SSI? It was more of a war game than a proper TBS, but it predated most of the typical TBSs. Others: Sword of Aragon: it had to be the inspiration for the Heroes of Might and Magic series! Empire: that was a classic! The Deluxe version was awesome as well. X-Com: was it the first tactical turn based game? Great ,either way.
The original Master of Orion was in there too, between those two, along with Reach for the Stars. Just to be clear, the original RFTS was the good one. The remake was horrible!!!
I've already tossed my suggestions about an espionage / security model, but what I'd really like to do is a strategy guide (like the good old days). I don't know if Stardock has licensed that out to a publisher yet, nor if that publisher has selected an author, but they can keep me in mind.... Right now, I'm teaching game design at the college level full time. I
Nope. The magizine one is much longer and better written. I hope it is different, did you check the date on that thing: 3/16/06? That ain't new to me!
One thing I would like to see is an improved "Find" option for planets on the main map or an option to click on the name of the planet on the colonies screen and be taken to the galaxy map. I can't count how many times I have tried to find a planet that just reported a message, only to give up in frustration. Oh, and thanks for making a game that is so good people care enough to spend a lot of time coming up with suggestions to try and improve it!!!
Back in the day, I would have been the CGW reviewer for this game. I hope he loves it as I do. And, no, avoid multi-player. Perfect the game for solitaire play. Alan Emrich, former Strategy Games Editor of CGW magazine And as someone that subscribed to CGW from Sept 1987 until very recently, I can tell you that Alan Emri
Holy Cow!!! I just got an email letting me know this thread has replies. I didn't know that feature existed here. Maybe it only applies to threads that you start. Hmmm...
With respect to the need to highlight for quote to work properly: Well that is completely counter-intuitive and different than any other forum software that I have ever seen and I have seen a lot!
What, no one caught the Simpsons reference? "Gold plated rocket car..." HA! I got it first!!!
Is it possible to view the actual numeric results of the polls? Those bar graphs don't tell me much without numbers.
Sorry about the double post, but I got an application error from the forum server.
I would think a better poll would be: - If we add Multiplayer to the game and have to spend more time sorting that out than expanding the original idea for the game i.e SINGLE PLAYER how many people are we going to #'%$ off, and how many of those will take their money elsewhere where the developers dont stick it up th
There is also an option to not use left over MP when autopilot objective is reached. I think that is the issue. Oops. Didn't read down far enough. (Also didn't answer the question as well either )
I was wondering if Stardock gave tours or allowed customers to visit. I will be in the area this summer and might want to drop by and say hi, and maybe get a t-shirt Just curious. Thanks!
see? As it is now, you have to manually paste the text in between the quote tags for it to work.
What things don't you like about it? Since it was written internally, I can pass on your suggestions to others. I can't imagine why anyone would design their own forum software when there are several excellent, free packages out there that work well and people can use. Here are my issues:<
[quoteah it would slow things down a bit in the begining and the land grab could continue a little longer] I think that would be a good thing. The last game I played on challenging, the AI vastly out colonized me right from the beginning. I never had much of a chance because of this as they were WAY ahead of me in every category. And believe me, I colonize as quickly as possible. I don't see how the AI was able to do this.<br
Has anyone had this mod work on version 1.1 beta 1? See my above post.
FYI, I am running the v1.1 beta 1 and when I load a saved game I get a popup that says "invalid call". I click okay and the galciv terminates.
Also, on the main menu, the version number is displayed in the bottom left of the screen.
Let the SDC Beta-watch begin...
bump good question
