If you keep disbanding the fleet, it will add to your moves left the number of your fleets max speed, followed by fleeting them again and sending them to a distance to far to travel in one turn. So, you could move one fleet across the map in one turn if you're patient enough.

ugh. I'm having the exact same problem. The game crashes to desktop every turn and this only started when I downloaded the 1.7 Beta

sometimes, a few races are left on cakewalk, even if you select a tough level. Its happened to me a couple times. Just make sure you double check all participating levels.

zoom in what you see is the tactical view, its a quite useful feature. to zoom in, rotate the wheel in the direction facing away you. I don't know how to zoom if you don't have a wheel, so you'd have to figure that out if necessary.

on masochistic, the AI gets a miniturization bonus - I think 25% It seems odd that no one has updated it in the GalCiv Wiki because I swear it was implimented a few months ago. Check the update logs. I know theres a miniturization bonus for Suicidal, it was implimented because too many people could beat the game with just economy and manufacturing bonuses. I'm not positive about masochistic.

To break an alliance go to the Foreign Relations Tab. There should be a box when you click your ally that says something like "Break Alliance". You can not break Alliances with Minor Races without refusing help. Theres no "box" to declare war against any enemy. There are other ways than to "sneak attack." You can ask for outrageous demands so your relations will go way down and they'll eventually declare war with you. Another way is to put transport ships in their area of influe

Farms only increase the population cap, it does not change the population growth. Frankly, its a good idea to have at least 1 farm on all PQ 12+. I sometimes put a farm on PQ9-11 depending on the bonus tiles. High Taxes + High Population = $$$

Your turn doesn't actually end when you press the turn button... It ends when ALL ships have finished moving and have used up their moves.

Makes sure your economy is in tip-top shape. The most important aspect in dealing with your civilization is your economy. I tend to have a very large tax rate, offset by morale structures on all planets. Farms are necessary on all planets 11 or better. Second, the AI values your military strength and uses that on whether or not to attack you, especially in the beginning of the game with your relations can not yet become "Hostile." Build defenders on all planets not building import

One of the things I love about being a Neutral Civilization is getting all planetary improvement tiles upgraded instantly after researching Xeno Ethics. Upgrading planetary improvement tiles does is not just limited to the planets you currently own, but also to the planets you receive later in the game, from colonization, military takeover, or cultural domination. A rare event happened to me in one of my games, some volcanoes changed a planet into a

I have not seen this topic posted already, but there's a bug in the Metaverse viewer. I recently finished a game playing with the Arceans. When I viewed my character, it says my favorite race is the Altarians, and I've never played with the Altarians! Upon further investigation, I found that even though there's an Arcean picture outside my game, the text when you move your mouse over it says "Altarians." I viewed across other players' g
