#3 If you are experiencing crashes, again, we would like to know about that. Your debug.err info would be very handy for that. What you were doing when it crashed. The only way these things will get found is either A) Users help us find them or B) Stardock's QA finds them. If it's purely up to B, then 1.1 will take much longer to come out. I p

I concur. I am at a point where the game crashes every time at this particular turn and I do not know why. Looking at the debug file, there are a ton of errors. I would like for there to be some way to forward this info so Stardock could use it, but I don't want to post it here for all the world to see!

I posted this last night, but it seems it did not show up until this morning. Anyone else have delays in the forums?

Using the html tech tree found here: Link I came up with some numbers comparing the three weapon technologies. I did this in an attempt to find the quickest way to reach 2 damage with a weapon, but while researching I found that the three techs have extremely different costs in the end: Beam - 43,725 Guns - 65,875 Missle - 77,050 Now,

We may have tracked it down to the need to research Sensors and Basic Support for most of these ships. Give that a try your next game. Well I did a test on the parts, and it seems that even when you have the specified parts in the Galactopedia, you still might need something like Miniturization or oth

Given the technology of the time, it would only make sense that you would be able to pinpoint the locations of other stars. We, um, can do that now in the real world. There is a technology that enables you to see planets - don't research it if you don't want to know where the planets are. Also, if you don't toggle the influence button on the mini-map, then you won't know where the aliens are. So, you really do have at

UI Changes 1. While in planetary mode, I often use the 'Next' button to go to the next planet. I would like to be able to click somewhere on the planetary screen that would take me directly to the planet on the galaxy map. As it is, I have to click 'Done.' Then bring up the planet list, find the pl

Here's an official request for an "obsolete" tab (like user and core tabs) in the ship design screen that lets you see obsolete designs and allows you to (gasp) un-obsolete them!

I saw those resources earlier and that is how I realized that I had the parts necessary for the core ship designs. Which is why I was wondering why ships were not showing up when I had the necessary techs.

I was wanting to play Gal Civ II on my laptop, but I get an error message saying that my graphics card drivers need to be updated to work with DirectX 9.0c. The funny thing is that I already have 9.0c on my laptop and it works fine. On looking at the ATI website, I have the latest drivers which are from 2004 I believe. The laptop is a Toshiba, and I have checked the Toshiba site as well. I reinstalled the latest drivers for good measure,

I forgot to mention, you need to be using the cheat flag for CTRL+SHIFT+R to work. It's a cheat that researches most of the tech tree. You can enable cheats by creating a shortcut to GalCiv2.exe and use that to start the game. 1) Use Windows Explorer to find GalCiv2.exe. 2) Right click on GalCiv2.exe and choose create s

If you like to know the core design ones, all you need to do is click on the Research screens and then highlight one of the hull sizes (ie Medium hull). It will then give you a description of the research, and a list of researches needed (that you haven't already got), to get those core design ships.

I am having similar problems but I am wondering if I really have all of the technology I need. I know that when researching technologies, I can see what is required for some of my custom made ships in order to build them. In a recent game I researched things for the Sniper: Tiny Hull Railgun MKIII (Mass Drivers) Sensors (not sure which kind) Basic Support But I don't know what kind of engines it needs, or if I nee

Ok, I got it: All three sliders work independently from each other and each planet has its own set of 3 sliders. This way we control exactly what the resources are being used for and everything can be run at full capacity at the same time if we have money to back it. This way a manufacturing planet can be run at full capacity at the same time a research planet is running a

Heavensblade23 forgot to mention his graphics issue on this thread. So if I can get everyone to be sure they check out his thread called, "Graphics: What am I missing?" I know he will appreciate it!

I am playing through the campaign mode to get a feel for the game. I realized early on that the entire tech tree wasn't in the campaign. However, there are some technologies still present that don't seem to deliver on what they are supposed to do. In particular, I have a question regarding the cultural line (i.e. cultural domination, etc). These techs are supposed to grant modules for starbases to increase cultural influence. After researching these, these modules do not seem to be availabl
