I'll take a stab at it, please correct me if I go wrong. If you have your spending slider set at 100%, and your research slider is at 100%, then your labs will be at maximum cpapcity. If you have 100% spending and 100% military, then your factories run at max efficiency and all of it goes to building ships. Social is the same as military, but factory output goes to social production instead of ships. Now, let's say your spendin

I can't rotate the map with the middle mouse button. Or the ships when im building/in the shipyard. It might not be a problem with the game, but do you know what could cause this? Windows XP 2.53 ghz 512 MB RAM Intel graphics card, came with computer when bought in Dec 2005 Running in English All drivers updated.
I brought this up in a post, but got no reply. Holding down my middle mouse button does not rotate the map, as it should, and in the ship windows I cannot rotate the ship with the mouse. It's probably not a but, but something I'm doing, so any suggestions? Thanks!
Ah, ok. I see. I've researched the defense tech that allows armor theory, etc., and the only other path off of that is "Starbase Fortification", which I have also researched and the tech says it unlocks modules, but they still don't appear.
Bump.... anyone else got any ideas? Has anyone run into this before? It's kind of annoying not being able to see what's explored or not unless it's in the center of the screen
Searched for these issues, and found nothing. On a planet, that has, say, one yellow tile, is there any use to build soil enhancement? If the actual project is going to take up that square, then what is the point? And, when I send a constructor to a starbase (mining), I can only install attack modules. No defense ones. I can install +10 beam, missile, and mass driver, but there are no choices for adding defense, which by the t
Also, just checked, graphics driver is updated, and is dated 9/20/05.
My Amazon pre-order just came in today. Great game. However, I know the map can be rotated with the middle mouse button, and that ships in the starport and ship builder windows can be rotated using the mouse. Neither feature seems to work for me. Any ideas? Also, the map, whether I'm zoomed to strategic or not, shows FoW areas that are not completely in the screen as solid black by sectors. If I move completely over an unexplored sector,
What you circled on the minimap in your screenshot are the stars. You can't see the planets around them without exploring. There could actually be as many as 16 planets in the galaxy (4 stars X about 4 planets each.) You still have to explore around the stars to determine how usable the surrounding planets are. Please correct me if I'm wrong, haven't played the game yet.
Looking through screenshots (gotta have something to do till release day) it seemed like the military starbases resembled something.... Gould motherships! With the pyramid in the middle and all? Just turn it into a ship and modders can go SG crazy! Thought it was cool
That would be a very cool feature... hope we get it sometime
Really cool, nice to see some actual gameplay... and yeah, I'm in the mis-pronounced the word "Drengin" boat too!
Everything truly is WOW! and it shall be a great game indeed. Thanks!
Assuming you can attack starbases, do they show up in the combat viewer? If not how does it work? I have only seen screens of ships fighting, and never starbases. Slightly off topic, I think I read this somewhere, but is it possible to create a ship with no sensors, engines, or range just to sit at a planet and guard it? Or is it required that there is some kind of engine and life support? Thanks! Game looks great <img src="htt
