I'm not sure what you did incorrect but I believe you are being rather harsh there Adam Michael calling useless turds. I've never applied just one icon out of a set though. It works terrific and looks excellent here. The WB's that are available really shine as well, I sure hope one of them gets updated, though Gabriels seems best.

Terrific news. The upgrade price for Object Desktop Ultimate also makes it well worth it, especially if you get bumped up automatically for being a current user. Those not subscribed, now is the time to do it! Its good to see SDC being overhauled, apparently into something different. It has never been a favorite of mine for how it was setup, though it was better than Component Manager for sure. I may be getting a Vista PC soon so really excited about the changes coming on for Vis

I have an easier way not to have icons on the desktop, don't have install programs put them there. And if you can't stop them you delete them right afterwords. I never use icons on my desktop, to me it is one of the strangest habits people get into on a pc. You can't access them very easily when you are working. Sure there is the show desktop button but to me its awkward. This program may be a good way for some to get organized though just not me. I keep my Start Menu clean, always reor

Its true it does come off a bit on the negative side, but interesting none the less. There are many skins that never see the light of day for us everyday folk. Also I don't personally see the need for a screensaver as I like to save power if I'm not using the PC. I would hardly be looking it otherwise. People obviously use them though. Keep this kind of stuff coming.

It is a shame that things like this have to be posted. Criticizing the whiners. People do have a right to say they dislike something but there is no need to be ruthless. I know this goes for practically every person here, you don't like every single skin created. We are individuals and so we have different tastes. There are many skins I go eeww at but I don't feel compelled to tell the artist that. I might give areas I don't care for or what I do like about it. Just lambasting a skin b

Personally I don't care much about what wallpaper I am using since it is covered most of the time when using the PC anyway, but I am probably in the minority there. I do like it to match the WB in some respect though. I don't know if I would use animated wallpapers more but since I'm not on Vista I can't try that out. I surely would give it a try but as with screensavers I might decide it is just unnecessary.

Aside from the Mac one, these examples seem more like DesktopX themes rather than Objectbar. I don't really see a reason here to use it. I know Objectbar can use widgets but still these are basically bars like you normally get when using WB. I am not very disciplined to create a bar myself, and have yet to see anything worth using, but keep hoping that will be the case someday.

I think there are so many choices you can't help but find a few skins to enjoy. Plus with the better ability to alter color and fonts in skins, even novices can change a skin they may not like into one they do. I agree the skins that came with WB6 weren't exactly my cup of tea, but overall I tend to find at least one skin a month that I really like, and then several that are good. Can't please everyone though that is true.

Umm WB6 provides blurring in XP so if a skin makes use of that effect you can use it with WB6. I'm sure SkinStudio will be released soon as its already been in beta for version 6 so I see no reason to wait especially if you already use WB5 which didn't have blurring on XP.

Its nice to have updates as sites can get stagnant without regular updates. Sometimes its changes in tech that mean a change is needed in the site, or other times what was originally thought was a good idea, is eventually thought can be done better later. Its really unreasonable to think that you can come up with the perfect design and have it stay for years. As long as the changes aren't a step back, its welcome. Also looking forward to WB6. Though my weak video card may mean n

All I saw was a Second Life version of things going on at the beach. I didn't get one idea of what this application actually does. So if someone sends me an email asking how I'm doing, etc I'm going to get girls in bikinis? I just don't get it.

Roger Cale above mentioned something I didn't see responded to and that was that now the focus was more on what the skinners want vs what the users want. It doesn't mean those of us who don't skin are being left out. What it means is that now the programs will be able to do things that skinners have been wanting to do but couldn't because of limitations in the software. This is a GOOD thing! It means more variety and perhaps more wow as far as skins go. I think the focus definitely shoul
