It is very quick and an interesting design. But unfortunately with limited customizing I won't be using it. For me the bookmarks imported but I just get a folder for "other bookmarks" to the right, which is not very convenient. It is only a first step though but definitely some good things going in it.
GhoS
Couldn't update WB from Impulse. Clicked on Update as it did show the update, but it would start and then stop immediately. No indication as to why. It installed fine in SDC.
I love the newer colors! Its not as "pretty" lol. JeremyG complained about the store being ADS, ummm a store is ads in a sense. The usual intent is you want to buy something when you go to the store, so hence ads to entice you to do just that. Apparently JeremyG also didn't check out the filter tab which would allow you to view just themes or just apps. The reason why some themes appear in there is because they are applications as well (MyColors). Also click "Expanded View" and that games
I have no intentions of switching to Vista, ever!
Quite strong words, care to follow-up with why you dislike it so intensely? I find it works just great on my machine and don't understand what people have against it. Usually those against it have never used it. True you need 2 GB of ram and a good graphics card to use it smoothly, but that isn't so outrageous. The UAC can get annoying, but its easy to turn off (which in Linux has something very much like it but a little le
Totally agree on Enhanced Dialog working in Vista would be a nice addition. And about having a boot screen changer for vista. Also compiz would be excellent in Vista. Not sure why Captainbeaker said Logonstudio Vista didn't work right in SP1, I have SP1 and it works just fine for me.
Yup I liked Artiface a lot and am using gaiety right now lol. Keep up the good work.
I only joined 3 days after Jafo, that's pretty cool. I knew I was pretty close to the beginning, but not a moderator. I can't believe its been that long either. Congrats to Jafo. He is one terrific moderator. Wincustomize just wouldn't be the same without him here.
I used to use Trillian but got away from it because I wasn't interested in paying for the best features. Also I found I couldn't interact the way I wanted with people on MSN and Yahoo. So no real need for the all in one solution. They also take far too long updating it.
Ah bummer no webpage gadget to listen this week, have to download it. I liked that gadget because I don't like downloading and listening that way. Oh well still will listen. >>>> My bad it was at the link, didn't think to try the link lol. Will have to skip the iphone stuff though, I know a lot of people care about it, but not me :P great work guys.
I hardly use Impulse. For me I liked using SDC to update programs but also to view skin updates and since Impulse can't do skin updates, I'm using SDC pretty much exclusively. I just can't get used to viewing the skins via the web interface and tried using the dedicated skin browser but it didn't work as well as the one in SDC. I'm not a gamer so that part is out. I do visit Impulsedriven and the forums but find those better in my web browser, mainly due to using Firefox and Impulse uses IE.
Its pretty nice, but my one issue is that having the taskbar at the top, the pick ends up cut off since its position is unchanged. I don't notice a menu delay with the control panel, at least nothing more than a few seconds. I agree the taskbar buttons appear a bit low. I notice nothing wrong with the logon/logoff buttons here. I think the start menu is rocking, but otherwise not that crazy about it.
I don't get why people find Impulse so slow, I have the 1.0 version and have used it since beta and found it quick enough, about the same SDC. Also as far as the eye candy goes, you are supposed to be able to "disable custom skin" in Preferences, but I noticed absolutely no change when I applied that (and yes I re-started Impulse as it indicated would need to be done). However I personally enjoy a program that is not only worthwhile but easy to look at, which Impulse is. SDC is rather ut
I really like the direction of Impulse though I am not a gamer so all that part means nothing. The rest of it though certain is looking interesting. I only wish it didn't use the IE engine in the browser.
As much as I like the look of Impulse and it setup, I very much like being able to browse for new skins and SDC has that, Impulse doesn't and doesn't appear as though it ever will according to the reasons I have seen why it has been excluded so far from having a skin browser. So as things stand I will be using SDC until I'm forced to switch. I can browse the galleries on the webpage in a browser or even within Impulse but I find it tedious and just not to my liking. Also I was curious about
Great picks indeed. (just a side note, usually you intend to show an example image on the front page, but all I see is a link to that image)
Sometimes its difficult to remember the obvious when troubleshooting tech problems. It isn't working and you run through either software, connections or other stuff only to usually find out they hadn't even done the obvious, plugged it in!
My only slight issue with the design of both CursorFX and LoginVista is the lack of an OK or Close or something that indicates you are done with the program. The settings are changed rather seamlessly but still used to close programs with an OK or something rather than the X in the corner. Other than that fantastic program, real easy to understand and use.
Yup I "hear" you there. Lets keep it going for the rest of the Year. Great skins abound. psst! a subtle hint that you typo'd
I almost never use IE, only a couple site I go to require it, and I guess I could use IEtab extension for FF but don't bother. Otherwise I currently have SpaceTime installed because its a rather cool way of using the web, mainly in the search area, but I don't see me using it as my main browser at all.
Been using the beta for awhile, a great update to this worthwhile program. No issues updating through Impulse.
I really like Objectdock. Its a fine program and well worth the money. I haven't decided to eliminate my taskbar though for some reason lol. I guess its because its nice decoration with whichever WB I am using. Maybe someday. Either way, give it a shot, try the free version you'll like it.
Those are excellent. I can't wait to see the packages they are part of. Not sure about going the MyColors route but you never know.
I have actually had this error for awhile but didn't ask about it since it didn't do this with all skins. Now though I noticed it with the new release from Stardock called Stardust so I'm wondering if its something on my desktop doing it or if anyone knows what might fix it. I'm on Vista Home Premium. I have provided screenshots. One using Stardust after its been applied and I re-booted the computer, and then another shot with a WB that works fine, iPhonix (which was applied

I have played every Mario Kart version with only very little playing time on the DS version and this Wii version while not at the top, its not the worst version - it is one of the better ones. The wheel is a nice gimmick but I found I just kept losing control or sometimes even turning the wrong way accidentally. I tried the gamecube controller but also gave the nunchuck and remote a try and this turned out to be my favorite. For me that works very well and I'm glad there a
