#11 by Vulcan2 Sunday, May 21, 2006 4:34 PM Lord Reaper. I agree with you. When you have people like Quirk and Thebestaintyou, quite detemined to ruin the Metaverse, there does not seem much point in it. [Commander] [5 Game Winner] [Human] [Over 5 Battles] [Normal] Would you care to explain.... Just How I'm determined to ruin the meta
i finish mine in about 16 turns .. anything longer than 51 turns that and reverts to the correct scoring umm... what advice ???? I havn't given any except pointing out the flaw in the new you beaut scorring system... I would never presume to tell anyone how to play... I only tell ppl how I play the game... and ask for advice on how the more compitant players are able to finish the games quicker than me while still taking everything to the max.. eg: tech, pop .. it takes me
Pressing CTL-N does'nt prevent you from submitting your scores.. so long as you've selected the game as a metaverse game when you start it.. pressing CTL-N isn't cheating.. all it does is .. ends the current game takes you back to the log in stage and then starts a completly new game.. just like selecting quit from the main menu and then the way you started your game.. eg: if you started a meta game thats where it'll take tyyou back to.. (loging into the meta )un
I'm sure that they'll get around to it... don't worry... i've also pointed out to SD a bug in the scoring system even efter the release of 1.1 .. so don't even think that i'm happy with it just because i'm in second place at the moment...I'm not.. it stll needs wqork to fix an exploit i've found.. 3 games submitted early on to prove to players that its possible at all lvls to end the game in less than 12 months for a decent score using the current buggy scoring system .. and the last one was don
after all my talking to SD about it.. its still there and still scoring the same.. I just tested it again and got a good score for finishing the game in less than a year...
but there again i can see why some ppl b(most) that i know are complaining now (yes even those who arn't getting the high scores (over 100,000) already are winging now that it seems imopissible to get scores anywhere near that.. IOts like employing someone and giving them $100,000.00 / 10 year employment then suddenly telling them that their efforts are still appreciated but now they will only be taking home $20,000 for the same abount of work.. I'm sure that you'd complain too..<
Did i mention that you don't even need to build any ships , colonise any planets .. all i did was researched 2 things and formed alliances thats it @Mega : i don"t see how thats possible>> even at 80 % research and switching planets over to reserch ove i have the stuff built on them i still can't get through ALL the techs in less than i have been.. please send an email to me with your stratagy of you don't want to talk about it openly.. The only reason i submitted those
I've found 2 what i think are major bugs.. one in the Game scoring and one in the metaverse scoring.. I've reported them both to the respective areas of developement.. the one in the Game Scorring allows you to finish a game in 12-16 turns (maybe even less depending of your starting setups) on any level of play and get great scores for less than 5 min work.. It does work on ALL dificulty lvls.. I posted a couple of game so that ppl can cee what i mean (see my pla
Also don't forgetANY scoring changes Should also be retro activaly applied to already submitted games like they were in GC1 when ever a method of scoring changed.. as i'm sure Stardock will be doing so that no matter what version of game that your playing with that your scores will be on par with everyone elses.. (just to keep those who don't like the newer scori
Lets just wait and see how the new scoring method works out. I myself believe that my games have been worth what i've been getting.. IF there has to be a big drop in the scores that i'm getting (as I play games up to 39 years up to challenging level on a huge map and takes me over 36 hours of true game play) My main concerns are that if someone finishes a game long before they've built up their pop and haven't gone right threough the tech
I havn't noticed that this is the case ... .. yes while your population is increasing.. or other things are increasing .. yes your score goes up.. I've not seen that when my colonies are at max (thats 100b population BTW on worlds larger than pq 14 at the end of the game after teraforming and builting 12 of the largest farming blocks.. and yes even though your PQ should be able to support more people there is a cap of 100b / planet) I do agr
{Getting more familure with the new technology JT Qwerk is starting to become a formidable Emperor once again} Spew: I'm impressed JT Qwerk .. I didn't think that you had it in you.. but time is still early .. You still have a long way to go.. Prikhard: This isn't the first time that our race has supprised you Spew.. I can remember when you said the same about me.. JT Qwerk: {turns to Spew and gives his cheaky grin}<br
if you want to play a game that rewards you for finishing quickle (least amount of turns..) then perhaps this game isn't for you... How about playing a nice game of Golf .. the least number of strokes to complete it is reguarded as the winner
arghhhh... i just explainmed ... why do people think that short games should score more please read my message above... if my theory is correct i could finish a game in about 2 to 5 turns... and that certianly isn't what i call playing the game... and should not be rewarded because you havn'tr maxed your population.. researched all techs .. created max trade routes.. extended ytour influence or flexed your military might ..
ok.. heres a scenerio to test ... set up a norml sized map .. set everyone close to you (relationships).. then get them to ally with you asap.. theoretically you should be able tro finish that game in less then a year... why should that be rewarded ... "You havn't played the game at all .. " so finishing the game quickly isn't the goal.. the goal is to get the most numbewr of techs , fully populated planets, good income, happy people even though your p
It alao seems to be using the same as it was in GC1 TotalScore = Sum of all games in a period divided by the square root of the games played in that period (period time not yet known but in GC1 it was 30 days) the time period for the 10*multiplier seems to be 10 years maybe i should reword that .. its not a bonus if you finish the game after 10 years.. but a penalty if you finish it quicker So the Metaverse side of the scorring seems to be the same as
