Ah, our posts crossed in the night - I didn't see your laptopvideo2go suggestion before posting my "ugh" note I grabbed drivers from the site and everything seems to be working, thanks very much for the assistance! If the problem crops up again I'll post another debug.err - seems like smooth sailing for now though.

Ugh - in fact there are no newer drivers available from nvidia for the "Go 6800" (the non-notebook 6800 drivers don't work and the nvidia installers find no compatible hardware). Any other suggestions?

I'm using the "latest and greatest" nvidia driver's that are published/supported by Dell for the system - but I'll try grabbing something directly from nvidia (I've had trouble with that in the past) and will let you know. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm not sure if I should post here or create a new thread given how old this one is but, I'll try here first... I just bought & downloaded DA 1.6 this evening and I am having the same problem described in this thread. None of the suggestions in the thread above work (including playing windowed, which you'll notice I kill towards the end of the debug below). Very frustrating to buy a brand new game and be unable to play past about 30-45 minutes, so any help would be appreciated. My deb

jared798: vista uses a different class of video driverse, make sure your video card is running 'real drivers' (not the ones included with vista) or your 3d performance will really, really suck I also couldn't get the autorun to work, but using setup.exe directly I got the game to install - and with proper video drivers it is running just fine. I'm running Vista Beta 2 (build 5384.4) on an XPS Gen 2
