what should I do about it ?

I had a problem today with a frozen galciv2 that won't respond to commands
I had to kill the process

I deleted a whole bunch of these "error flipping + driver internal" so as to shorten the lenght of this post
as a sidenote, I'll probably try to change my graphic driver but that may not give any results

I'm not sure if I should post here or create a new thread given how old this one is but, I'll try here first... I just bought & downloaded DA 1.6 this evening and I am having the same problem described in this thread. None of the suggestions in the thread above work (including playing windowed, which you'll notice I kill towards the end of the debug below). Very frustrating to buy a brand new game and be unable to play past about 30-45 minutes, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if I should post here or create a new thread given how old this one is but, I'll try here first... I just bought & downloaded DA 1.6 this evening and I am having the same problem described in this thread.


Update to the latest Vista driver on nVidia.com. The issue you're experiencing is due to a bug in their Vista drivers that was fixed in 101.41 (March 14) and subsequent releases.

I'm using the "latest and greatest" nvidia driver's that are published/supported by Dell for the system - but I'll try grabbing something directly from nvidia (I've had trouble with that in the past) and will let you know. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ah--didn't notice it's a Go chipset. In that case you'll want to get drivers from laptopvideo2go.com instead (nVidia leaves it up to the OEMs to handle laptop drivers, even though the reference drivers generally work just fine--laptopvideo2go mods them to fit).

Ugh - in fact there are no newer drivers available from nvidia for the "Go 6800" (the non-notebook 6800 drivers don't work and the nvidia installers find no compatible hardware).

Any other suggestions?

As above--you can get the 158.42 version from laptopvideo2go for Vista 32 bit here. If that won't install (It's modded to run on all mobile nVidia chipsets, so it should), you can request help with modding it to fit on their forums.

Ah, our posts crossed in the night - I didn't see your laptopvideo2go suggestion before posting my "ugh" note

I grabbed drivers from the site and everything seems to be working, thanks very much for the assistance! If the problem crops up again I'll post another debug.err - seems like smooth sailing for now though.
