I like using: NMoM. It sounds like something exotic.
Neither NMoM nor not-MoM really rolls off the tongue and not being something doesn't look too good on box covers. =) Why not simply RoM - Return of Magic? It's not taken and all the old farts can recognise it as the return of... that... game. If SD can pull it off in the spirit of MOM, I'll buy. Don

Maybe he's an evil Snathi.
Configuring freshly built stations for auto-build is another annoying item. You have to hit a very small check box and then click OK on the other end of the screen. Bleh. That's not counting that you may wish to alter the default build order for this type of station at the same time. Once built and quick-configured like that, I just reroute 8 constructors to this station and don't need to look at it ever again. It will be </em
Speaking of wrist-friendly macros:
MouseGetPos, xpos, ypos *do stuff* MouseMove, xpos, ypos
This returns the pointer to the position where you started the macro, avoiding unnecessary resetting of the mouse. Going along the same line of thought, you wouldn't have to click the mouse if you want to do stuff with a particular tile on a planet.
MouseGetPos, xpos, ypos MouseClick, l
Bah. Join the pussycats if you like. Noone is gonna sue you over it. Apparently a lot of people did because otherwise they wouldn't be so far ahead of anyone else by now. It's true. It's an extremely easy way to get a shiny #1 medal - for the achievement of clicking "join empire". But so what? Take the shinies and run. =P I created my very own empire because I wanted a pre

It would be easy enough to populate tiles so long as the player starts with the same buildings in the same order of availibility every time. The trick is going to be getting the correct structures on the bonus tile

For twitch games they can be a huge benefit, taking some idiotically complicated mouse maneuvers outta yer hair. The full scope of Autohotkey is far beyond what a few posts here can show. I was starting to wonder when a moderator would start slapping wrists and splitting the Kzinti thread. =P Use this to "encase" several macros so they are only played back when actually in the GalCiv window.
*freaking out*
Yeah Autohotkey is extremely versatile. It could also replace a series of keypresses with "stuff", not just a normal hotkey like Ctrl-B. So you could type b1 to rushbuy the first item in the planet queue and b2 to buy the second. Often I find a command string easier to memorise than a ton of unique hotkeys. A simple example to chain-rushbuy the first item on the colony list would be
End:: Loop { Sleep 10 GetKeyState, EndButt
How does it go again? So I rise to the mark. I think we may be gaining on the snark! But what is this? The snark is gaining on us! So much for anachronisms like classic hunter/hunted roles... Grats in any case! I think that's the most perfect score so far.
People with ideas are bad enough but those with a PLAN are just plain dangerous.
Either the Re-Education Center or just let the enemy have 2 planets. One of them being some worthless PQ 4 piece of rock. As soon as one flips, give it back. Once I completely relocated "the other race", too. Gave them 2 planets at the edge of the map along with the 4 influence starbases I prebuilt in that sector. They totally owned that space and I didn't have to worry about them any longer. Their original colonies eventually flipped, of co
Above the shiptype selection window there is a small tick box: Upgrade all ships of this class. I didn't find it at first, either, but I wrote a keyboard macro to do the clickeroo for me. Although the tickbox is faster, I gotta admit... Of course, that only works on all blank molds but *shrug*. Barring that, an Autohotkey macro. Autohotkey.com
That's pretty much how my games for score go, I just haven't been able to get a million points out of one....yet.
It's dreadful work without any margin for "fun" like leaving a particularly furry minor race alive. I noticed that, too. If you use hundreds of "fluff" parts (or useful components if you can fit them) then 2 things happen. 1. The graphics start to crap out at some point 2. The memory requirements go through the roof because every single ship that is built with that design will require a large amount of memory. The dreaded Out Of Memory error becomes far more likely.
Hi there. Please add the empire "Gold Wing" to the AltMeta list. http://metaverse.galciv2.com/index.aspx?g=empire&id=4137 Thank you.
Nox and Diablo 2 were released the same year and even though Nox came out a bit earlier... it simply didn't survive. D2 hit like a tsunami. Few series would ever top that. Except of course, the Sims. =) Either way it's baffling when a new Hack'n'Slasher has to compete with a 9 year old game. Wonder if Blizzard releases D3 on D2's 10 year anniversary. And announces D4 for 2020. =P
1. Outpost. They called it a game. I disagree. 2. Supreme Commander. They did everything right. Except they forgot to include anything to make me want to play it. Build 8273562 units and send them towards enemy? *shrug* 3. All games with stupid level scaling. Darkstar One and Mass Effect did the exact same thing and they were about improving one's avatar - which is impossible when every improvement improves all enemies by the
So I created an empire of my own. I'll have to admit that it was only to have a pretty empire logo. =) The old farts among you will surely remember that eagle. But it's no ripped copy or anything like that. I created the thing and the whole of it. Some things you just gotta do all right and proper. I
Yes, now it works fine. But I found another issue, although that one is merely an incomplete description. For a metaverse character logo I was told it had to be a 128 x 128 (max) JPG or PNG. I used exactly that and it did not work. The upload script hung up at the "processing" window. I found that it only works if you upload an RGB JPG... How am I supposed to guess
Tried the same again about 1 day later - same result. For both browsers the Upload Logo button does not respond.
