Hello all QoT players,

Many people complain always about QoT's weakness, and useless skills. The most recent complain is about the supposed "Buff" that SD/GPG gave her. This so-called Buff, made entourage a kinda useless skill, and made it worth getting ground spikes over Entourage, since the buffs were not worth it.

I personally never play QoT, (excuse me but I dont like her), but when i play against her, it is almost certain that with any character, i will drive her away, since she lacks the neccessary dps.

XaviorsFist suggested/requested a replacement for the Entourage skill. And so i tried to do it. But i failed and asked for some help in his forum post. Ptarth offered to look at my code modification, and showed me my mistakes in the code.

So please give credit to Ptarth.

Anyway, enough with my blah blah blah. The changes are:

Nutrient Extraction

The shambler buffs are gone, instead it now has a Life Steal Aura, which is useful not only for QoT and her minions, but also for allied demigods. After all, QoT is a support character. Sedna has 2 Aura skills for a loooong time. Its only fair.

Nutrient Extraction I: Queen of Thorns gains a Life Steal Aura. Life Steal for all allies increased by 8%

Nutrient Extraction II: Queen of Thorns gains a Life Steal Aura. Life Steal for all allies increased by 12%

Nutrient Extraction III: Queen of Thorns gains a Life Steal Aura. Life Steal for all allies increased by 15%

Tribute:  Queen of Thorns demands tribute from her subjects. Gold production increased by 6. (I buffed tribute a little, in order to make it a little useful. It is a level 15 skill after all, +4 gold was like nothing)

Summon Shamblers

I buffed the shambler HP and damage gain, in order to compensate for Entourage's lack of shambler buffs.

Summon Shambler I:  Changed the cost from 450 to 350 mana.  ( Summoning 1 shambler for 450 mana seemed A LOT)

Summon Shambler II:  Buffed shambler damage from 5 to 11. Buffed shambler HP from 125 to 275.

Summon Shambler III:  Buffed shambler damage from 10 to 20. Buffed shambler HP from 250 to 525.

Summon Shambler IV:  Buffed shambler damage from 15 to 30. Buffed shambler HP from 375 to 750. Changed the cost from 975 to 850.


Updated to 1.12 - The changes are:

- Fixed the Life Steal Aura effect of Nutrient Extraction skill

Updated to 1.1 - The changes are:

- Changed the name "Entourage" to "Nutrient Extraction".

- Reduced mana cost for Summon Shambler I skill further, to 350 mana.

- Added an effect to the Life Steal Aura of Nutrient Extraction skill for all allies.

Make uproot a regular aoe which damages everything in the area (buildings and all), and mabe also slow. Note have an aoe field, not the targeting pointer.

Yeah I almost forgot about that mod! the sad thing is that people aren't playing with it, or are they?

Edit: hope there will be a "how the game should be" mod soon which people play with.

In the last two days I have only seen one game with any kind of mods, ands that mod was to use Occulus and DA. I personallyy got the mod, and a handful of others and bare even get a chance to use them. Many people don't even come into my games anymore T_T I havent even got to use this mod online yet.

The problem isn't the number of gamers, but many really don't come to the board and other can't enter certain games that have real mechanic chaging mods like the balance of favor items and the even less liked balance of items... they will pay for harming vlehs helm.

Haha I'm feeling this is getting off topic :P 
so I'm just going to say that if anyone wants to test this mod (or any other mod, or just play?) don't be afraid to add me.
If we form a group of people who test this mod I think we (in this case "we" is morpheas ;))  can make QoT Awesome!

I just checked the mana costs for Open form abilties.

And....Spiked Wave 2 costs 1000 mana for 500 damage!!!! Jesus Christ!  Thats A LOT of mana for a mediocre skill!

I Just tested the mod in single player. Wow what a tank! Nutrient Extraction with Bracelet of Rage is not to play with xD
Ok playing against normal AIs isn't giving the fairest testing results. I would really like to try out this mod with real people!

Giving the Bramble Shield III reflect damage is a really cool idea. I like this alot. Around 25-40 I suppose would be ok.

Spike Wave cost reduced to 600/800/1000 mana.

Uproot: This needs some bonus to be considered. Massivly increased mana regen aura while uprooting would be nice. Something around 200-400%.

And reduced shambler costs. I'd also like seeing the shamber AI fixed, if it is possible.

These are all easy fixes that should be doable.

Anyways shamblers Ai is something that requires a major fix also, and I wouldnt mind working on it myself If I knew how.

Unfortunately i cant, because The Life Steal is an Aura, and when i tried to add the Gold income to it, it counted as an Aura too, and all allies had +2 gold production LOL. It was like there were Gold mines everywhere!!

I tried to add it in different ways, in order for it not to be an Aura, but i failed

If someone can help me with that, is welcome.

Sorian, I hope you're checking out all the amazing mods the community is making! The modding potential of this community is unbelieveable.

 

QoT does not need a stun; she's there to support. Any DG she's with will already have one. I really like DemiCom's slight open form changes. Please put those in morph! I just hope with all these changes she doesn't become the Queen of Demigod 8C

In my opinion she is not the one to make the killing blow, she is there to make sure her teammate gets it and not the enemy.
However, Spike Wave is using too much mana compare to what good it does, a stun is not needed but a longer or greater slow effect is. This way she can actualy help her teammate get the final hit.

You don't need to kill anyone to win, and I don't think she should be getting killing blows. That's not what she was designed for.

No one really should care about kills with her, but its wha majority in game do care about though. Anyways We must not lose her seiging ability dont forget her main purpose is to destroy defenses and armies.

Well that is true but still I have a hard time killing catapults and a really hard time killing giants..

Please tell me your joking? A level 7 thorn drop catapults with one hit, and a level 10 drops just about everything else. Giants I can understand but not anything else that isnt a demigod.

I havent't gotten in any human games yet, but both shamblers and nutrients extraction makes dropping towers childs play for her now. I went one game without even getting ground thorns, and that is a first.

Well, for any that might care: I have managed to get the functions and such for my aura that is dependant on the number of enemy DGs in the area working. ( After WAY too much trial and error...ugh. I shamed myself with this one...and it's still pretty brutish )


Anyways, it's just a matter of replicating some stuff out, and creating the debuff half and I'll have an upload available for anyone that wants to see how I did it, and maybe mess around with it. ( It is kinda funny to watch your maxhealth and run speed go up and down as enemy DGs come and go. )

For the curious, the main part of it involves using:

    local aiBrain = unit:GetAIBrain()
    local startPos = table.copy(unit:GetPosition())
    local NumTargets = table.getn(aiBrain:GetUnitsAroundPoint(categories.HERO, startPos, 20, 'Enemy'))

to count the number of enemies. I just used a function, called OnAuraPulse to check how many enemies there are, and apply the appropriate buff. ( So yea, atm. I have 5 different buffs, and by completion there will be like 20...ugh. Like I said, brutish. )

First of all,

Sorian thank you for trying to help, but I think the gold income idea is not neccessary after all, because this skill gives a nice Life Steal Aura, and i think that is enough for QoT.

Also, anybody who tested this mod, let me know if the Life Steal values are high or low. Life Steal may need some nerfing of buffing :|

I agree that QoT doesnt need a stun, It would make her to be independant on other demigods, and that would lose the whole point and need for her to support.

Anyway, I tried to make Uproot to heal friendly towers, but it didnt work. I didnt spend a lot of time on it, but the outcome was that it didnt affect friendly towers, neither in a positive or a negative way.

Sorian if you could help me with this, that would be great.
