I purchased DA on Feb 9, I used the offline activation to play the game on a non internet PC. I haven`t been able to activate the game on my online PC since. I have contacted [email protected] many times. All I get are canned email responses that do not solve anything. I reply to these emails clearly stating that the problem is still there, Only to receive the same canned response again. The new serial number I was just sent also is of no use. The reason I`m posting this is it seems to be the only way to get a real response from this company.

Due to the way the support system works, that is likely the very reason your ticket hasn't been addressed by a support representative. "Older" tickets sort to the top of the stack, and each time you reply it makes your ticket "new" again, which sends it to the bottom. The idea behind it being that those who have been waiting the longest get the highest priority, though it has the side effect of making 'bumping' the ticket have an effect completely the opposite of what's intended.

If you post your ticket ID I can ask support to look at it specifically on Monday. Or if you can explain your specific issue it may be something I can help with here on the forum.

SDC will not activate DA on my online PC. I have reinstalled DL and DA, No luck. DL ver 1.5 will run just fine, But DA will not activate. SDC keeps giving me error code 102.Ticket ID: WTP-697887. I would also like to apoligize for the tone of the original post. I`m very frustrated at this point.

If after you go to the registration dialog and pick Games on the left, DA is not in the pull-down list on the right side just under GalCiv2, then you probably just have an old version of SDC from before it was added. You can get the latest version of SDC here.

I can`t run DA manually either. I`ve tried to manually activate DA, I keep getting an error message that says there was a problem during activation.

Hi,

Kryo wrote me and let me know about the the ticket. Here was the updated responce.

On Feb 23rd at 8:30pm

 I used your updated serial # on SDC. I still cannot play this game. I payed
over $40 dollars for something the company I purchashed it from is not
allowing me to play for some reason. How much longer am I going to have to

On Feb 24th 10:20pm I wrote back

 Hi,

Try manually updating the serial number. Do this by going to Stardock Central, Tools > Register Products. In that menu use the tabs on the left side to select the category then in the main window please set the software name. Copy and paste the serial number in the box and hit update to update your serial number in the Stardock Central records. After that you should be all set.

Just as a follow up if things are still not working please send us the login.txt file that can be found in program flies > stardock > stardock central.

You can look up the status of the ticket by number in our system. WTP-697887.

I am uncertain why your hotmail account didn't get the email, perhaps your spam filters are set to high.

hi im also having problems with da. i ordered it a week ago and have been trying everyday to download it. it kept coming up with different problems the problem i have now is it says i have to purchase a registration.

im a member of this site and use these details to get on to sdc.
i copied and pasted the exact serial code from the email and put it in the right place. it says please close the register product dialog. i did this and another window with galciv2 version 1.5 blablabla came up. i pressed update now and another problem arrose. this time it said "your galactic civilizations II registration information is invalid. please check your Email and serial number are entered corrctly with in register products dialog

would you like to purchase a registration now?

im getting fed up i payed nearly $40 for this game and allive had is a load of problems and its really annoying me!!!!!

Did you purchase GalCiv2, GalCiv2 Gold, or Dark Avatar? Are you sure you're pasting the serial number into the proper location in Stardock Central? The reason I'm asking is because there was another user on here who accidentally purchased GalCiv2 instead of Dark Avatar, which caused him infinite headaches.

Do you have the original GalCiv2? Dark Avatar (the version available directly from Stardock for $29.95) is an expansion pack and is only playable if you own the original GalCiv2.

Unfortunately, since I'm just a game player (like yourself) and not a Stardock employee, there's nothing else I can think of off the top of my head. As lousy as it is for now, it's probably best to submit an email to [email protected] (if you haven't done it already) and wait for a response. They're quite good about replying, so just give it some time and they will sort it out.

It may take a bit of time (since the game is new, and reviews are good, I suspect they're dealing with a fair number of orders and such), but they'll fix you up.

Hey mongchop1,

Start up a ticket in [email protected].

I will take care of you as fast as I can. The forums can be support friendly but I can better assist you in the actual support center. Be sure to send in all your info like emails, serials... and favorite colors. That last part isn't needed I just wondered.

I received this email more then once. I`ve replied to it more then once stating that it solves nothing. I`m still receiving the same canned responses and NO solutions.

I have been noticing allot of posts relating to serial code issues, I don't know why that is, but there is a sticky on the topic, i don't know if it is updated for DA yet?

some time ago, after installing and activating DL, my galciv1 game became invalid for updating purposes in stardock. It isn't important enough to bother trying to solve, but it did happen, so i thought i would mention it.

At least i will be more clever this time and update DL before installing DA incase the same thing happens again.
