The Galactic Core Mods Site




A new Unofficial Mods database has just been released!

The new site will allow members to upload their ships/mods via FTP and then link to them in the program for all to see and download. All you need is a screenshot and a zip containing the mod files and you are ready to go. Install instructions are entered into the program as you create the new mod so people can easily use them. You also keep full control over the mod so you can erase/modily it ata ny time.

We have just secured the fantastic Kenwebbs Shipyards who will be uploading his ships to the site shortly! Are you next?

lol, I have a favor to ask, and since you're the only modder so far to appear, I'm gonna ask u. Can u make some ship hull parts so I can make my ships look more star trekkie?

I don'T want to be a big party crasher but I will be...

Stardock also hosts a file repository called the Library, you can find it in the Metaverse. Lots of downloads there.

hmm i checked the link too the download and inside the ftp of the mod placed on your site, but couldnt find any instructions so i just followed a extract too folder procedure hope thats enough, but i see two files and one is different from the files used on the shipcfg folder... when i try the game ill check if it works fine.

Good move on the off site mod database. For copyright reasons it would be good to keep the more... controversial copies or mods of material that is agressively defended off the website of the game's maker.

tried it on battle of the gods no go... ill try other forms.


As far as i am aware ship mods will only work on standard games, not campaigns.

Remember most ships at present contain CE parts too.

I have now included 2 new category entries for ships to let you know which race you can use the ship for and if you require CE components too.

I am working on adding a 50x50 thumbnail into the lists so users can get some idea of what the mod looks like before they click on it. However the program doesnt support this so i have had to pass this out to a friend who is an ungodly programmer that can make wine into water

Big update with new portraits and ships

Many thanks to those of you who are contributing to the database!! Todd waiting to hear back from you again!

Darth Kryo (the code monkey) will be looking to have the image problem sorted out by the end of the week for me. Any Stardock, or civilian crew who have a really good knowlede of php and think they can help code the column containing the Core logo so it shows a 50x50 image (defineable in admin area) please email me!

Way to go!!! I hope it grows and grows and grows!!!

I too feel having a secondary non-stardock mod site is a good idea.
In our world of modern legality and copyright laws, Stardock might not
be able to host a star trek mod, or star wars mod or what have you. While
a fan run site would be more likely to get away with it.

Enjoyed doing the Unofficial Mods Site for GCI so natural thinking made me decide to do a second.

However please remember the new mods site is totaly reliant on you guys submitting the mods to me.

Is there a way to edit the ship some way so that other races, like custom ones can use it. I notice many are Terran - which I do not play much.
