Your Stardock.net account is used here by the forums, in Stardock Central, on other Stardock sites, and also to manage your Metaverse characters.  "One account to rule them all."

Your account can have up to THREE characters tied to it.  Most people will have only 1 but this way, if you have multiple people in your family playing the game (my son plays for instance) they can use a character. 

If you've already pre-loaded, you should be able to go to the Metaverse and Manager Characters.  You will need your serial # to create another character.

If you have any problems, let us know.

Metaverse has been timing out a lot today. I can't even connect in the game to start a new game!

Here's a new one:

"attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.s"

I thought I'd check to see if the problem had been fixed, well I guess it hasn't but this new message does point out the possible problem.

I wonder whats causing it?

Hello. First time posting aaand, it's for a problem. LOVE THE GAME THOUGH!

Anyways, so I logged into the Metaverse for the first time and tried to create a character by the name of Krye. This is the order of events that followed...
1) Created a new character named Krye (punched in my cdkey, uploaded a pic). It appeared to work.
2) I went to the Ars Galactica Empire and tried to join. When I pushed the button I got a totally random name (Chairman Kaga I believe) instead of Krye.
3) Exited out and went to Manage Characters. Sure enough, the random name was there.
4) Perplexed, I created a second character called Krye5.
5) I managed to get him to join the Ars Galactica Empire fine. I renamed Chairmen Kaga to Krye and had him join the Empire. I removed Krye5 from the Empire.
6) Just to make sure it was ok, I created a third character called Raith and he stayed ok as well.
7) Relieved, I started up the game only to find my characters gone and instead another random character by the name of EvilLust was there.
8) I exited the game and checked the Ars Galactica Empire. My Krye character was still registered.
8) Even more perplexed, I created yet another character called Raith 2 and added him to the Empire without any problems.

So here I stand, I've now created Krye, Krye5, Raith, Raith 2. Krye is still registered to the Ars Galactica Empire under the account of Chairmen Kaga. I can't see any of my characters on my account other than Raith 2 as I created him under the EvilLust account I appear to have gotten crossed with.

I would like to know if I could just have my Krye, Krye5 and Raith characters back that are currently under Chairmen Kaga's account.

I have the same error as Citizen Kintor,

"attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.s"

So I cannot make a player.......

Any thoughts?

Well, I can't get it to create a character in Firefox either (it gets stuck at the Processing Information prompt), and when I try it in Internet explorer, I get this madness:

Hey all,

This is what error I get when I try to create a character in the Metaverse:

Exception:

Memory is corrupt

Notify the site manager

Or something along those lines, I am using Fire Fox, Latest and greatest.

Same error here - try to create a metaverse character and it says

Then it just says 'processing data'.

Great game though stardock - arrived this morning and I haven't been able to put it down (won my first game already - only on beginner though)

While trying to create a character using IE6. Firefox just freezes in "processing data".

Tried also to create a character without luck. Both IE6 and Firefox came up with the same exception error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. Firefox is version 1.501. Then followed by the same Processing Data dialog everybody are talking about.

I too am having the same problem, I tried taking the read only off of the GC2 folders, still have problem. Look forward to this getting fixed

This is the message I get when I try to create a character. I use Windows XP latest version, IE 6, I am registered under Freya, So I don't know what causes this. The computer is a Dell laptop with 2 gigs internal, Pentium centrino 2.26 Ghz.
I am registered already since 2003 under the name Freya so my first thought was that this character should have been created already, but it doesn't show up, and when I try to create a new character first of all I don't get the options to add a player, then I refresh the browser and get this option in the last two ranks, the first is empty. Can someone help me out?
