I don't know if it's significant but I took away the lines relating to textures and percent of planet size on the uninhabitable worlds - Can you only assign a certain number of these in the customplanets file or something?

I checked that out and it still didn't work - I was getting all the planet images for race 2 for some strange reason and the names were showing up like they would for a custom race... Anyway, I started again the race and planet info from scratch and went through each race in order and their planets likewise, loading the game to test each one as it was finished and now they all work fine.... I don't really get it, but hey, if it works...

Ok... I'm going through the races, slowly and one at a time... editing them so that I will eventually have some form of a star trek mod. Right now, I'm adding the planet images and star systems to each race. I edited Races 0, 1, 2 and no problem. Then I jumped to race 7, leaving the ones in between in tact and then used the same method I used to edit the others - which worked and still work fine. I have even tried, thinking that perhaps due to some bizzare improbability law

Firstly, I'd like to say that I'm an avid multiplayer fan but I seldom buy a game that doesn't have a single player mode because I like both. The thing with this game is that the AI has already been developed, there isn't going to be another expansion pack like DA or TA and so the development of MP capability CANNOT take away from all the things that we don't want it to because.... THEY'RE ALREADY THERE! It was pointed out above that more human players=lower AI effectivene

That's not strictly true, Shamgar. How many times have you read/heard/seen reports alog the lines of 'kid mimics video game and does very bad thing'? - which is inevitabley followed by some oprah style 'are video games destroying our youth?' nonsense debate with 'desperate mom/brother/sister' and 'obnoxious kid' - basically porting the 'issue' of computer games into the drug/drink problem debate slot. Although, it's true, I don't think there is a DIRECT comparison between drugs

Most of this has probably already been mentioned, if so then take it as an 'I second that motion' Also, as I hear there won't be another expansion, I suppose these would be suggestions for GalCiv3... 1.) Two or three new races done in the same way as the Krynn (ship styles, logos, etc) 2.) Three or four new political parties 3.) One or two new 'Generic' tech-trees possibilities could be 'Generic warrior race' or 'Generic diplomatic race' or tech

I want to limit the range of colony ships so that colonization happens mostly within each empire's borders - it really irritates me in all games of this type that the AI always seems to want to colonize the furthest away areas, so, my question is: How do I do this and what other factors in the game (space stations, etc) would have to modified to get the desired effect?
