I am considering altering the Terran symbol and replacing it with another by introducing a new file in the screen folder and renaming it; possibly doing something similar with the portrait. If I do do this, will it cause any problem when I eventually submit my final turn score to the Metaverse? Thanks
Dasiko If it is of any consolation, if you ignore the visuals in the Combat Viewer the combat is quite "realistic". In the game it is the attacker who fires first where in reality it would the side that could obtain a target lock first and/or came into range first. When you installed the game it automatically checked to see what version if any you had and if neccessary installed directX 9.0c; no need to worry there. If it helps I too have a copy of the game bought in the UK, etc. No such problems with my machine, though it is relatively new. Make sure you have the latest available drivers for your graphic card, processors, etc.

Just played my second game, the AI was on normal with a medium sized map; I was Terrans and the Altarians were adjacent. Given that they are suppose to be a "Good" race I find it curious that they launched an unprovoked attack on a friendly adjacent race which also leaned towards "Good", had never attacked anyone and ..... had no military. Have just been playing my first game at last; in the UK and it took an extra day to deliver (not an issue). As the game progressed I noticed that the speed at which planets rotated in the top left of the colony management screen steadily increased, then the speed at which ships in the ship screen would rotate also increased.
