just do what i did, "downdate" back to 1.61, it sorts the issue, then update to the official 1.7 when it is released.

Cool that fixed it.... uninstalling the game, (just DA) and reinstalling and updateing to 1.61. . i have even loaded my 1.7 beta games and both skip turn fine now..... thats cool wish i had thought it up before now, (i know someone mention'd it above) but i really thought that a save game would really have issues loading up on a previous version, i was wrong it works fine. i think the bug is related to major races declaring war on minor races. . so tip for ya's all If u install a beta patch don'
i just unstalled dark avatar, reinstalled from the cd, ill update back to 1.61 and never touch a beta patch again lol
lol i like that. . . as for loading on another computer, i would think the same bug will happen. unless u mean the other machine is runnin 1.6 load it on that skip a turn and save, then load up on the 1.7 beta and continue playing. . . hmmmm not sure if that would work. . with an older version. .(without any nasty side effects lol), and i would need another machine.. i think ill wait for stardock to release the next beta, or full 1.7 patch with the fix before i continue playing. . . c
i have tried reloading a few turns before, but it still happens. . i have emailed stadock and they say a fix is ready for the next patch release, but exactly how long that ill be is ne ones guess, i guess ill have to play summat else in da mean time lol
thank, raknor. i found the debug file. . if the last line is simialr to yours : Debug Message: ERROR: Had to force clean up on dead ships that were lingering! (Ship Name: Terran Fleet 16) ASSERT ERROR in file .\Source\EndTurn.cpp at line 2121. then it is a bug, and well have to wait for a fix asap hopefully lol
ok, like an idiot i accidently installed the beta of DA 1.7, i should have known better. . i have played 2 long games over the weekend. the first one i got to a ceratin point, where i cannot get any furthure the game CTD's at the same point every time i hit TURN. i have it saved just at the point it crashes every time. . so i figured it is a beta issue ill have to save that game and wait till a proper update sol ill start again, And guess what? i been playing all day. hmmm, i don't mean turn the battle sequences into a kinda rts, no. At the mo it is pre determined outcome so watching it is a kinda pointless excersize, what i mean is just a little tiny bit of user input that can effect the outcome of a battle, that would be good. as of Empire at war ive not heard of it (is it any good?) as for tech tree its not that i don't like it i just think that tech progress should be slower. as for capital ship obital constuction facility, say u could only build one per

the development of dark avatar sounds really cool so far, me personally i would like custom senario manager where u can create your own game ie in turn 78 the dread lords or worse invade via a wormhole etc. AND to see some tactical improvements, ie just a little user input to space battles and planetary invasion, maybe just to be able to tell your ships what to shoot at. and maybe a little polish in those areas, like cool sound effects of ships damaged, alert sirens when hull is critical maybe m
ahh, grooovy. just got my lightwave model into the game, im well chuffed now. o.k. textures no matter what settings i use to convert texture to 256x256 png they always turn out black, ie no texture, so my ship model just stay's untextured. another question, is hard points, i believe in 3ds max u can create hardpoints with dummy objects, but im a lightwave user. so unsure on how to do this, so im getting there. can any one offer any advise or tips please <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/
o.k. some one kinda asked this allready, but here goes. i would like to create new ship hulls for the game and im unsure how to do it. im a lightwave user (version 8). i made a basic model, exported it to .x with a third party exporter, for an initial experiment i copied the s0_tiny model with its texture map to the mod folder, then i just replace the .x file with the one i created, then hmmm nothing it not work the ship is on the list but no model no nothing. i guess im doing something wrong bu
i have never been much good at modding, i usually always fail. ill model a really good ship in lightwave the spend hours looking for ways to get it into a game,(homeworld as the example) and fail. o.k. this is what i understand and have done so far. the models ingame are in .x format, so i have downloaded a .x exporter for lightwave not sure on how it works fully yet tho. ain't got a clue on textures, except ingame they are in png format. oh and the descriptions for the ship are in xml. right sp
