Guess which forum I've been straitjacketed to since Monday?
:)
I have been just swamped these past few weeks and I leave every day feeling like I didn't get enough done, and I can guarantee you that no one here has been celebrating instead of working. We're just very busy. I probably should have made a post on the forums yesterday, but I was very involved in debugging a problem right up until I left and by that time I had forgotten about it. There will be no update this week.
Well, I hope you get round to celebrating eventual
It's amazing what a little TV airtime and a TON of good customer service will get you these days. Could this be a model for the corporation of the future? Actually LISTENING to what your customers have to say??
Personally I think Stardock gets too much praise some times. Yes there pretty good at advertising there products but they definitely could be better at keeping us customers informed. Would it really be so hard to take a min to say sorry guys theres no beta tod
Are those 1500 guests just on the galciv forums, or the Stardock forums in general? If it's the latter they're here for Sins of a Solar Empire, not the TA beta
dont know, i thought it was just gal civ. edit: think your right rls669 it is all Stardock forums. Kryo was on a minute ago hopefully he can give some info on the TA beta... hint hint.
4d? I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be beta 5, with the new victory condition enabled. It would be cool to see the last major feature (apart from AI) make it into this beta. After all, that has been announced for a while now.
Couldn't agree more. edit: just read divines post thx for heads up
We thank you for your support! We hope we are living up to your expectations.
Giving word on if theres a TA beta out today would be nice. Congrats on sales.
bump would like to know as well please stardock. A new beta shedule would be a good idea perhaps.
+ NEW: Added option to enable/disable tech stealing
Quality, I can remember asking for this on the forums even before TA.
+ NEW: Added buttons to Lease/Maintenace screen to toggle between listing ships and improvements on the maintenance part
Font size needs to be reduced for ship names. Now that sins of solar thingy has gone gold hopefully next weeks beta will be a lot more chunkier in terms of content+AI upgrades. Would be
You know you're a Galciv fan, if ... You havn't even read this thread cos your too busy playing TAbeta 4c. ;)
Could someone point me to that workaround, please? I'm not up to date in that matter.
[link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=421&aid=172188#1413624"]WWW Link[/link] Hope link works check codecritter posts for workaround.
Kind of just thinking aloud.
:) No worries. Compiling a list in a new thread is a good idea.
Incidently I notice a lot of tech in the last couple of releases just say TODO in the description.
There are hundereds of little things like that that can be fixed in the next couple of months before release. Fixing of tiny bugs is not the agenda of asking for a mini-update. The hopefull request of a mini-update is only because the invasion bug is a game destroying bug. Also it's now supposedly been fixed so it's just a question of time before we get it. A tin
I may be wrong in this but from reading the forums I got the impression the game always crashes whenever the AI invades a players planet due to a bug with the new invasion screen. This basically means it would be almost impossible for the AI to win because it can't take the players planets except culturally. For the people who are playing the beta just to find bugs this shouldn't make a difference, but for others who are playing the betas for fun or other similar reasons it has
Beta 0.94(b).003 Edit: Check out CariElf new journal entry
Havnt dowloaded yet... more info to follow
Plus, you'll be happy to know that Cari fixed the 'freighters back to starting planets on reload' bug...which I know several of you have been looking for.
Understatement of the year so far... Thanks Boogie/Cari. Even if this was the only fixed thing in this beta I'd probably still be happy. Havn't played the last two betas 'cos of this bug.
I would rather see the MCC do what it's advertised to do - flip stuff faster.
Me too. I think the MCC might just be a typo error, maybe it was just supposed to be +100 economic instead of +100 economic(s). The addition of the (s) has a radically different effect of course (planet/galaxy). To my knowledge Stardock has never said anything about the MCC I would love it if they did.
The mind control center is just about the only thing that keeps Yor economics afloat if you want to fight a war in TA.
Thats not a good reason for keeping an overpowered building. If the Yor aren't balanced compared to other races thats a completely seperate issue to the xeno ethics balancing issue. I think you've mentioned the Yor in another thread and I agree with you they need strengthening. If the +100 economics building is to be kept as it is in TA then go
Thalans look very interesting. They were the best race in DA and have quite a following. Is the beta due out tommorow (3rd Jan). The original beta schedule isn't quite accurate anymore so it's hard to tell. Will there be any changes to xeno ethics to accompany the Thalans. Good is vastly underpowered to neutral and evil. Also was the evil +100 economics building intended by Stardock. It's vastly overpowered, most experienced players go evil because of it. You only have to
It sounds way overpowered tbh. Is the percentage of creativity the chance of having a tech completed every turn? Some races eg Yor have creativity in there tech tree as well. If creativity gave a tech a 1-5% chance of completing per turn at most, maybe it would be ok and not unbalanced imo. The tech victory path techs perhaps should not be able to be obtained through creativty.
Can you upgrade ships received from the Super Dominator ability? If so, then if you have a lot of cash stocked up you could quickly deploy and upgrade a lot of decent ships.
Bad idea in general. 1: There tiny hulls so pretty useless. 2: Upgrading costs 10x as much as building ships costs.
Doubt there even back in work till Jan 2nd. Thought the next beta was supposed to be Jan 3rd, no idea if that will be the case though.
This is a post CrazyC0330 a Stardock employee posted in my thread on lack of resource mining modules. 3-4 weeks ago. Jesse (codeCritter) and I have actually been looking at this situation for the past couple of days and will eventually be implementing some adjustments where the team deems them necessary. Because of all the adding/removing of techs within the race-specific tech trees there were quite a few affected starbase modules. Some of those were by des
I'm going to have to question this as far as Industry and Research go.
The low maintenence and cheap build cost of there buildings is definitely a strength but really doesn't come close to making up for there weaknesses imo. Having starting factories that produce only 3units is a major disadvantage. It makes them very weak colonisers compared to other races. The economic advantages of low maintenence buildings are lost due to poor eco buildings. The ke
