Bad install of sp2 is what that is! There has been a lot of strange reports of SP2 problems after install. Evevn though it completes the install and looks good things begin to happen slowly. Best to do a new install - if you do not get your win7 disc soon.

Seems I've had that problem and just unlocked the taskbar and moved it and it fixed itself. But with win7 this is more like a UAC problem. Everyone seems to think the UAC has been redesigned in win7. My thoughts are "ya it has! it is worse than Vista." Well that is my opinion for it. Actually have not seen this problem yet. But it will for sure get a fix or work around soon. More like if you use it and do it right you are ok. Doing things wrong and it will go wrong... till all drivers are signed properly things will go wrong for win7. Just as vista started out with just so much signed drivers. You will have to live with how you want to use uac. But my best suggestion is to use it - if a program does not run right ... reinstall it while logged into admin. There are some tweaks; but each to his own. Well the main reason a lot of people are looking to move to 7 is due the fact it has a virtual XP Mode as seen here. But I would not be too concerned with trying to skin that. Plus it takes a given type of CPU with a good amount of ram to run such a Virtual PC. As far as still skinning xp for people using it. OK another thing if you use the command Chkdsk /f /r J: on that new drive and it says it is repair a bad sector or marking a bad sector. Then something is wrong with that new drive. You should contact the manufacture with that information and get another drive under warranty. Not sure but you will have to pay shipping on it. go to the drive in computer and right click it and select properties - then go to tools - then in the error checking box there select check now besure automatically fix is checked for the box there and go start let that run then run the command prompt again with the fsutil dirty query J: - thus what does it say? if it is clear you should be good to go. If not there maybe another problem with a update for Vista. But we will see about that after I know for sure. Be sure you do this in

Ok go to the all programs list and accessories choose the command prompt from there but right click it and run as administrator. Then type chkntfs /x J: press enter then type fsutil dirty query J: press enter if it says the dirty bit is not set for that drive you should be good to go

Did you use a disk defragger to defrag the disc? Thus it failed to run on reboot - like diskeeper maybe? Even so it or something has set a dirty bit on the drive no matter what you do to it - that is change drive letter or even remove and then place it back. The system see it has adirty bit set for it. Thus you need to clear that up - so - go to run and type cmd press enter then at the dos command screen type CHKDSK /F C: C: being whatever the drive l

Philly the future computers have very little in a desktop really. Except for what pops up on the screen when it is needed. The newest design is more of the computers that talk back and such.
