Hi! Could you please post the order in which you installed the GalCiv II game and expansions? Please include the medium used to install each (order is important) such as CD, SDC or Impulse. Thank you!
I dunno if i should laugh or cry... the frigging Impulse made a nice little mess of things. It installed the patch... for GC2, NOT Twilight. Yes the Twilight's patch is in wrong place... but it did reset my settings for TA. Thank you for messing up everything... NO NO NO (forget the above)... the thing's absolutely ****** up.... I'll uninstall the game and star all over again. See if that fixes this. If not, well.... And why i can't stop the update from Impulse? I
So if you want Impulse to see the games, you have to either a) add the path var manually, or b) uninstall them from SDC, then reinstall them with Impulse. Installing them w/Impulse will put the path variable in place.
Goind forward this update should be handled by Impulse automatically. A dialog stating that installation information hsa been updated (click OK) will display. Then just mouse over the items in the list to have them update to Installed or close
Franco, how did you install your Dark Avatar to begin with? Mine was done quite a while ago using SDC, and because it was done it that way, the proper registry keys were not in place for Impulse to see it. And that's why I ran into this issue.
We have finally found a good solution to this issue. The latest version of Impulse does not require a registry edit. Just fire up Impulse, it will tell you it is making a registry change. Say OK. Close Imp
I wasn't disappointed, I was terrified. It locked my system up solid. I thought my rig was a goner. I finally got it to respond, and uninstalled it. Even that didn't work correctly. I spent the better part of my morning manually rooting out the various files that it installed, and even now I'm not sure that I got them all. God knows what it did to my registry. Sorting through that will be this evening's project. If this is the future, then the future is a screaming, frustrating hell.I'
There's a bug with Impulse not recognizing the GalCiv2 expansions because it seems that SDC is not putting all the key values in place for them. If you are handy with the registry, you can manually fix it by following what I said in reply #5 here.I've mentioned it in various threads around the Stardock forums, but it seems that Stardock has yet to come up with a fix to get those registry key values inserted. As to why Impulse locked your machine up, I can't be certain. I've installed it
My Anti-Virus software (Trend Micro 2008)complains that impulse is trying to change my internet explorer settings and blocks this from happening. Please explain to me why your program thinks it needs to mess with my internet explorer settings. I must consider the application a malicious security threat at this point.
We will look into this issue.
Where is the option to ask me where to install the application and put the start menu shortcuts? Maybe I don't want these apps installed on my C drive. A person should have the ability to decide where an application resides.
Click on the Stardock logo in the top left corner. Select preferences, then folders. You will find a location in there to select where each "network" gets installed (games/desktop/tools). Each one can be configured to a different
