What's this? This is terrible news!! Rant, rant, rave, rave. Impulse grrr. My dog ate my homework. Stardock is responsible for high oil prices. Blah, blah, blah... ;P :D Thanks again for the effort and know that many value Stardock's after sales support. Definitely looking forward to 2.0. I've said it before - you guy's rock. :CONGRAT:

In an ideal world digital distribution pricing should be universal; the problem is middlemen and skimmers gouge consumers because they can. From my perspective if nothing has physically changed hands then how can there be a price difference? As mentioned, Steam charged a different price for Call of Duty based on region. This is a deal breaker for digital downloading if it continues. All that said whilst Gamersgate, Steam and now Impulse offer products at the same prices regar

Congratulations :D. As usual the 'bad' in the review is no multi-player. Gee I wish they'd put a bit more effort into discussing their reasoning for no multi-player being a bad thing. It just comes across as just a missing tick box - not something that's a mistake or a true criterion for associating with bad.

Congradulations :CONGRAT:. You guy deserve it. The only thing that I found irritating was the complaint for no multiplayer. It seems to be a common annoyance with reviewers. But hey its still a reasonable review. Also did anyone else notice that the text review alluded to galciv III - I think they might be mistaken about it being next in the pipeline.
Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor is being worked on heavily. This week we started implementing a new feature that allows players to have the AI design ships for them. So for new players in particular who just want a decently designed ship, they can now get it with this new option.
I posted something about doing this a while back, but hey I'm glad you came up with it too. ;p

Would it really be so hard to take a min to say sorry guys theres no beta today
I have been just swamped these past few weeks and I leave every day feeling like I didn't get enough done, and I can guarantee you that no one here has been celebrating instead of working. We're just very busy. I probably should have made a post on the forums yesterday, but I was very involved in debugging a problem right up until I left and by that time I had forgotten about it. <br/
They are probably finishing up the patch instead of following a what will turn out to be something that happened by a misunderstanding. Patience, people, patience...
Agreed. I also think Sins and a few other things are taking up their spare time, so replying to this thread would have little priority.

I'd don't like FPS and I would have bought Bioshock but the copy protection scheme put me off. So for me you guy's are number one. :CONGRAT:

I'm not sure that the idea of it appearing on a torrent site is to prevent piracy. Maybe Stardock believes that people downloading from these types of places might give a false impression of an inferior end-product in the eyes of potential customers (i.e. misguided pirates). I hope Stardock clarifies their position soon as this thread is getting out of hand.
Once you have a handle on C++, get Effective C++ and Effective STL. They will make you a better programmer. There are other books about how to be a better coder, but I haven't read them yet, so I can't give my endorsement yet.
I concur. Meyer's books provides good insight into C++ usage. I'd also recommend "Designing Components with the C++ STL by U. Breymann".

As I have little spare due to having a bub, and whilst the designer is fun, I use it only to adding techs as necessary. I'm embarrassed to say that my ships really are butt ugly. :D

This is fantastic. :CONGRAT: There's so many new possibilities its a little overwhelming. I'd say March also seems quite optimistic - but hey you know better than us. Again you guy's rock.
As you guys can probably imagine, a lot of the team had not taken vacations at all this year. They were willing to keep working this week to get the new races in and such but I thought it better for them to use their vacation days. The good news is that internally, the two new races are in, they're just not tested. Over the holidays, I'm going to start implementing the new AI, begin the serious balancing work, and make other changes so that when we get back, we c
