I just started a new game as a custom race with the Thalan tech tree. I put all of my technology points into engine systems, and when I researched the Hyperion Matrix technology to put on my nice little homeworld Precursor Mine, I found that there was no Matrix for me to build. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a known bug? If it's a known bug... what the hell. I mean c'mon, seriously. What the hell... Unless I'm just a total boob and researche

I've had this error too, and it's not related to system performance at all. For me, this bug happened mainly in the endgame phase, where I'd conqured all but 1 planet and was making Huge hull size ships every turn for score. Sometimes when I clicked 'turn', the turn button would temporarily dissapear while ships moved -- I understand that's due to a large volume of ship movement.
