Yeah and in space nuclear explosions seem less "exiting" than on eart cuz of the Zero g. In that regard, I agree that it would be cool to see better explosions in the game, current ones dont loook that powerful Monc34

Well I think he sayd it worked, and why wouldnt it, its just to buy some time till you can get ships there and help or just sell them some when possible. AI is just sometimes stupid, Anyways I tried the 8 ships around a planet thingy on the campaign and it works just fine and dandy, didnt let my allies invade the drengin and at the same time they couldnt launch ships cuz if they tryed they would die, so I got all their planets and won. I might try that helping the minor thing, but 1 problem is n

Wouldnt like memorizing a lenghty formula for prices either, leave it just as it is now, Thx you Monc34

It can happen all ways, If the ships had hyperwarp, and you click on hyperwarp, itll tell you the name of the ship with what technologies you need to research, same if it had phasorz, same if it had minituarization, same for all techs. But yeah, it wont show that until you research a technology related to that research , so once you reaserch the previous generation or close to that generation of techs, it will show it. On engines it almost always shows them cuz all races start with hyperdrive, s

Now, as things stand, you can get an idea of the techs they've developed through the dialogue screen or the tech analysis...but you don't know what they're doing NOW. Yes you can, go to the foreign screen, click STATS, click MISC, and itll tell you their Research Points, Current developing technology, time rimaining and their intelligence level.<

Trade income is absolutely vital, especially early on. Trade is also an extremely useful tech to trade to other races, since if you do, they'll often set up trade routes with you (as well as paying you for the tech in the first place). Trade also has valuable diplomatic advantages, since it disinclines your trading partners to declare war on you <br/

Where are you going to get the money for Research Points if you dont make markets??? I always make 3-5 markets per planet, 3-4 manufacturing plants, 2 research centers, 1 farm and research stock markets as soon as possible, or research diplomatic tech and trade them for stock markets, and let the planets upgrade to stock market ASAP. That will give you a good moral, influence, and money per planet. I specify on planets later on after the first planets. that seems to work. Also trade money is

Cant you put 8 ships around a planet , making it protected from invasion unless they declare war, save my friend minor race from invasion for instance ??? Or do that to some other civilization, so they cant launch ships out of their orbit?? Usefull to prevent an allied getting killed, or the AI launching constructors. Havent tryed that myself, but I remmember doing it on GalCiv1. Monc34

I thought it already told once you upgrade the tech needed to unlock the ship, for example lets say you built a Frigate with phasors and Hyperwarp on a previous game, once you reaserch Medium Scale Building it'll tell you what ships are going to be availble, and what other tech you need to research, in this case, when phasors and hyperwarp have been discovered. Hope that helps. Monc34

Yes, but the bad thing is, if you didnt brought enough ppl on transport to capture and ocupy the planet, using Information Warfare Tactic is a god send for the AI, youl kill all their rebels and hippies, so all thats left is the brainwatched, propaganda-full-of-BS population. Monc34

Not that its unbeatable, since a couple weeks be4 election you can drop the tax to make the approval rating above +60%, and let you win, and tax them to hell the week after you won for 24 more weeks, then repeat. Most of the time Im between 59-71 tax range, depending if I want to increase Population levels faster. Need to fund my ilegal wars you know, just like Bush's administration Monc34

Well the game calculates the strongest player as the 1 with the most ships, and the 1 with most "fleets". Or so I think , cuz everytime im playin I have my ships on the planets defending and Im with very low number like 120 while every1 else is 150+, but when I start a war and make a couple fleets, my number jumps to over 200+, and the quarterly reports say im likely to win cuz of my "economy and fleet strength". I vote to BUMP this cuz I dont see the "LIGHTS". SOMETIMES they appear, but they look like sh*yt. Really I dont mean to be rude but they look ugly, and dont work all the time, appear on the bright side of the planet, LOL , apear on unclolonized planets, and sometimes on the battlescreen but they look even uglier than on the main map... Com on stardock its just a texture thing, how can it be so hard to fi

I thought that the 3 Psc Rule only applied to MY starbases only, not the other civilizations. By that I mean they can put their starbases close to mine, but their own starbases have to follow the 3psc rule. So I can have an economic starbase beside my most productive planet for the Milatary and Scoial bonus, but then all of a sudden, the AI send a couple Influence starbases and place them near those planets right beside MY starbase. Guess the AI needs some work with that code, cuz its obvious th
