Oh another thing, it would be a little different if the process was automated or someting. You send email and instantly get something back, but nope you have to wait for someone to READ it, then do whatever it is they do, then they send it back. So if they are not a stardock when you send the email your screwed. The process really sucks the more I think about it. Of course again if we had internet we wouldn't really give a rats butt. But we don't sooo. <img src="http://images.stardock.com

You have to do it by email. When you try to send it, it will ask you if you want to Verify via email. Say yes and Copy and paste info and bring it to your other machine. Send it via email and after awhile (who knows how long last time for me it was 10 mins, this time its been over hour and still not yet) they will send you a Sig.bin file to put into your GC2 directory (so yes you will need something to use to transfer file, disk or USB storage or something) This system to me is wor

I agree, same promblem I have. I mean a couple of people come on these boards and complain a few times about a feature in game, maybe if we Non Internet users complain enough they will change this. I mean When You have the Dam Retail Disk in your hands and installed from that, this crap should not have to happen. Download version I can undeerstand though.

I agree, even though it really only effects us Non Internet users its a pain. If I had internet I wouldnt care. What ticks me off the most is that I can understand the need to do this when I downloaded the GAME from them. But to have to do the same thing when I have a the Retail Disk Version now is wrong. I would certainly rather have Regular Pirate sofware then this, since this is now the second time since I had This game that I missed a night of playing. <img src="http://images.stardock.com

Even with the Retail CD Code? Oh man.... Yes Brand new windows Installed so I guess I have to go thru it all again. I will install it tonight then and send code tommorow for I can play it tommorow at least. But I didnt have problems with 1.0X and played it for about 2 hours last night, it only asked once for code, and that was when I installed it.

The weapons thing is Disturbing. I take it tech trading is off? The weapon thing might be a little off though, since i'm sure the game has not been long enough to Have big wars where the AI will Use its Adaptive Thing to counter other races Ships. Im sure by Midway gamtime they will have all sort of weird Weapons tech going everywhere. LOL.

RealTech Audio Drivers are from 2004? I know those built in Audio Devices on mother boards don't get upgraded much. But its worth a try to visit Either the PC manufacturer to see if your MB has Updates. Or if you built it yourself go to the MB Manufacturer and See if they have Updates. Worth a try. I just Rebuilt My comp From and AMD Barton 2500 1 Gig Ram 6600GT With hardly any crashes myself To a AMD64 3500 2 GiG Ram 7600GT

Oh never mind you bought a Used version, thats a whole different issue. Since Im sure the last owner of that Game registered the copy, which will give you problems. Contact stardock to see what needs to be done. Hope you didn't waste money on a Invalid Game.

Download version or Retail CD? If downloaded you might have to resend the Reg to get it to work. I rember when I first downloaded the Game, since I don't have Internet on home PC I had to go home, install it from Stardock Reinstall. Then had to write down a Number and send it to Stardock to get the Real Registration. If your using the CD version you should not have to do this, at least thats what they said in begging Retail CD reg is good forever. If I have to go thru all that agai

Did you just upgrade to 1.1 and trying to use maybe a 1.0x Version save?

7 Replies 3,809 Views

Well I think like The Nutrality Research Centers before 1.1 were Not Included or finsihed, I think the same apllies for some other techs. Some just do not make sense.

Yeah it is a long winded number. Hopefully it wont cause me trouble since I rebuilt My computer this weekend and Reinstalled the Retail CD (first time I opened it, downloaded last time) and since I don't have internet on that PC (I refuse to Install a Phone at New house, cant stand it when you get basic phone service for 20 Bucks and Your bill is always 35 bucks cause of Taxes, stupid govement) And Until The DSL without Phone comes to my area, I won't. Anyway better work. LOL.

Have not played the beta yet or the New 1.1, but the whole point of the colony rush was to beat the AI. And the Common AI Tactic is to fill Colonizers with 30 Population and send it off. Hopefully they fixed this for 1.1, be very painful to have 100 AI worlds with 30 Population never Growing. LOL. And would seem that if this is still the case, the AI on the better Difficuties will STILL rush just like before, and you will have to do the same thing just to counter them again. You can

That is a good strat if you kill them in the first volly and you are the attacker. But beware if you are on defense... Its a good strat in the Beggining of the game, for nothing more then getting your Military Rating up higher to stop the AI from pouncing you in the first few turns.

8 Replies 12,570 Views

Yup the problem is that they can have 60 crappy ships and you have 15 state of the art ships, and if the Miltary rating is higher for them (cause all the ships stats added together) they will attack you. And you will stomp them. Its always been this way.

10 Replies 7,165 Views

Because on Begginer they start off Real slow, even on subnormal they seem to start very slow.. But thats the way its suppose to be, its hard to get anything going when your Economy has been Nerfed by 75% like it is on begginer. You want a challenge move up a little.

warui is right, think about fleets too.. Maybe it might be a good idea to have two versions of ships, one with high defenses in Such and such Defense, the other in a different one. Then when you mix them in a fleet you add all that up. BUt of course if you know that your enemy only has Beam weapons them by all means only use Shields, until they adap

Yeah in the early game its tough to build anything cool. But to be fair if your going to be comparing a Hyperion Cruiser from B5 to anything in this game then it would have to be Large hulls, or maybe even Huge. The way they have it is. Tiny = light fighter Small= Heavy Fighter Medium = Corvett Large = Cruiser or battle cruiser Huge= Battleship

17 Replies 12,526 Views

Hmmm, if you upgrade a ship and keep the same name you get the option to upgrade all the older ships. If you delete said desiegn while you still have ships out in the fleet you will lose those ships, and make a little cash from the scrapping. Thats the only time I ever noticed a whole line of ships being deleted. When you delete the whole Blueprint.

They don't respond because no borders in the game. The borders you see are influence, not physical. It annoys me too. Unless there is a bug though, they are suppose to prepare for any ovious attacks at Intelligent or Higher Difficultiies.

It matters, if you have shields and your enemy has Missles or MDs they are not good. But on a side note if you have a High Shield rating you take the square root of that rating and get that defense. So if you have 25 Shield Defense going agaist 10 Attack of Missles your safe. There is alot of thinking and it does hurt my head some... I usually go

Yes they are. I have resources that a Minor have taken in my current game And can't even find the homeworld anywhere on the map.. They have to be soooo far away its silly. On another note though, believe the devs mentioned that they did not want the minors to expand beyond their homeworld.
