I think the issue is that we should see more core ships beyond the Star Fury and the transport. There are more core ships, I understand, and them not showing up is a sign that the program is not working the way that it is supposed to. I have designed ships, but I think the game was built so that one does not have to. I have done a great dal of research, and nothing else shows up.

I have the same problem, but I think there is something other than tech research level. I can select a tech that will enable certain types in the description box, and all of a sudden they disappear. I was going to try and uninstall and reinstall. I purchased online, not from a CD.
